I thought it would be another opportunity that Bendis would take to show how much Riri is wonderful and essential to the universe. That seemed obvious to me. But I believed that Bendis would make her meet with Tony during the Denny O'Neil run, where he reached the low point of his life. There somehow, Riri would be instrumental in getting him to stop drinking or something like that. But this... thing that this book is really about is ... I'm speechless.

When this was first announced in February, Alonso said:
"we have an ingenious device [to bring them back]."

Q: "Is this self-contained? Is this an alternate timeline?"

A: "In one word: No."

"These stories do happen, they really count. They really matter. This isn't some alternate reality story or some time-travel story," Alonso explained.

So... NOT some time-travel story? However, that is literally what they are, and they are pretty awful ones at that. Each and every one so far failed to impress, with only the Hulk story having anything like repercussions, and even that was mishandled.

I started to suspect the Iron Man issue would stand out vis-á-vis suckitude even among these sub-grade fish wrappers when there were no solicits for it.

Marvel is dying. And we're here to watch it die.

Could be in five or six years time we'll see Marvel sunk, bought out by the competition and now DC has a special imprint: 'Earth 8 comics' with five monthly titles - 'Avengers', 'Spider-Man', 'Fantastic Four', 'X-Men' and 'Marvel Super-Heroes'. Each will be oversized and contain two stories, though - the main story and a backup feature. Each year, there will be a super-sized Annual, too.

Riri could have been such a cool character, kind of a blend of Buffy and Doctor Who. All they needed to do was keep her grief over dead loved ones as a living part of her character, and have her protect people she cares about from serious danger. That's it. That's all. Really simple, basic stuff.

Instead her book has the same problem that Iron Man has often had: it's the dry story of someone with impersonal, unrelatable goals. Stark's story has often been a dark kind of dry, and Riri's is a light and fluffy sort of dry, but it's still just utter dryness. Why is it so hard to fix this utter dryness?

Generations has been all about Marvel upstaging the classic characters with the new ones.

I'm sure that this one will just be 20-odd pages telling you how much better than Tony Stark the utterly bland and one dimensional Riri is.

Darkness at the break of noon
Marvel's singing a different tune
I can't read their thought balloons
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying

I loved Marvel when Bendis wrote "DD"
But now they've neutered Tony Stark's "wee wee"
Took him from his comic after 54 years
And replaced him with Riri
Tony used to be a big dog
Now he's like a poodle named "Fe Fe"
But it's alright Marvel....I can make it

Cap and Tony used to bicker
Till Marvel replaced Cap's star with a swastika
When Tony finds this out his ticker is gonna flicker
His heart will break and he'll feel even sicker
You can't solve this Tony with a bottle of liquor
But it's alright Marvel...I'm only sighing

Now Thor's thunder has stopped rollin'
His Mjolnir and comic book have been stolen
Tony can't even clone Thor now
Cause Thor's hanging with the Nazi
And his clone would just go invade Poland

Remember when "The Big Three" conquered every foe
Now they are like another "Three"
Named Larry, Curly, and Moe
I miss Bruce too....Tony's "Science Bro"
Has my Marvel pull-list ever been this low

Cheer up Marvel fans it will be okay
Cause we still have Chris, Chris, and RDJ
The comic books may go away
But the MCU is here to stay
And its alright Marvel
It's life and life only

Okay, so I'm no Bob Dylan \:\)

Nice job. Even Bob Dylan would surely be impressed by those lyrics! \:\)

(Nitpick: Should the word 'since' be editted to be 'sense' on 5th line?)

Sounds like fun. Currently I've been into making log furniture myself. I'm in the process of making a log dining table today.

Yeah, that should be "sense". I must have been lost in my rhyme. I was really "Freewheelin'" there for a few minutes. I think I also put an "its" in there too instead of an "it's".
I was trying to find a song to put my corny rhymes to....some other ideas I had:

"The Leader of the Band" might have worked with the "I am a living legacy" line, playing on the Marvel Legacy theme.

I tried "Dust in the Wind" as in..."All of the Big Three Avengers are dust in the wind".

Oh, and the song "I am...I said"...with the line...
"Iron Man's home, but it ain't mine no more"

Thanks for the Iron Bob. I hope he adds some boot-jets and repulsors to that sculpture.

PS. I miss Tony Stark soooooooooo much. The last summer I had without Tony I think I was a tween. I have been supporting Riri, but surely there is enough room in the MU for both Tony and Riri.
