Quote:When it happened to Moonstone a few years ago, who up to that point had been written as an extremely strong-minded person, I threw up my hands in disgust.
Quote:I think the reason she went insane is because Nicieza refused to make her truly good or evil. She walked that line for a long time and it was getting ridiculous. Having her go crazy, and putting her in a coma was a cheat in my opinion.
It was absolutely a cheat. Plus, you could actually do a good storyline where she gets so powerful that it causes her to feel like she can do whatever she wants, which would naturally nudge her towards her villainous side.
I wasn't a fan of the Kree personality in the her stone either.
Quote:It was time to poop or get off the pot in regards to Moonstone's allegiance...but Fabe couldn't do it. Ellis said screw it and just made her pure evil...which to me undermines the work that Busiek and Nicieza had done with her for several years.
Amen to that. And then that interpretation continued in Dark Avengers, but even worse with her having sex with anything that moved.
Quote:I guess Moonstone can't ever win...if she becomes good she loses her appeal, if she becomes evil she loses her complexity and if you have her straddling the fence she loses credibility. *Sigh*
I didn't have a problem with her straddling the fence. I surely don't like that she's done so many things that seem irredeemable now.
How annoyed were you with the lack of any meaningful Hawkeye/Moonstone interaction when he was captured by Osborn?
