Subj: Mac Gargan will always be the real/true/genuine Spider-Man to me.

On the subject of Bullseye in Dark Avengers, and his threats to kill his team-mates, I loved how, despite the massive power-difference between them, Gargan reacted by telling on him.

I really, really REALLY wish the subplot of Mac being medicated to the point of docile cravenness had gone somewhere. A kinder, gentler Venom would've provided an infinite supply of lulz.

As much as I loved Dark Avengers, the fact that it was mostly a Norman Osborn book meant that like a number of the others, Gargan didn't really get a lot to do, compared with when he was a Thunderbolt, and not long after Dark Reign ended, he reverted back to being the Scorpion, so that Flash Thompson could be the new Venom, which is just...weird.

But did you read the "Sinister Spider-Man" miniseries? They got Bachalo to draw (most of) it, and it's one of the weirdest, funniest things Marvel have published in years.
