Personally I don't think sales should be used as a metric to judge quality.

Liefeld's X-Force was popular. It was also crap.

Justin Bieber sells lots of records. His music is crap.

The Twilight movie franchise...crap crap crap.

Don't use sales as the determiner for quality or the only quality will be what the slack-jawed knuckle-dragging dirty rabble like. You'll have glittering vampires solving NCIS cases at Nascar.
