No prep (except where specified). No battlefield removal. No holding back. All characters in classic incarnations. Assume all teams work together. Assume everyone has general knowledge of their opponents' abilities. 1 minute of rest between fights. You get to choose when to implement the following options: Superman can sundip only for 1 round. Wonder Woman can get her sword and armor only for 1 round. Batman can have 24 hours of prep only for himself in the Batcave only against opponents of 1 round. How far does the JLA get?

Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal), Martian Manhunter, Flash (Barry), Aquaman, Batman vs.

1. X-Villains: Magneto, Apocalypse, Juggernaut, Exodus

2. X-Men: Rogue, Storm, Colossus, Wolverine

3. Heralds: Stardust, Terrax the Tamer, Firelord, Air-Walker

4. Guardians of the Galaxy: Angela, Gamora, Groot, Drax the Destroyer

5. Defenders: Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Hulk, Namor

6. Avengers: Quasar (Wendell), Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Gilgamesh, Hercules

7. Avengers: Sentry, Blue Marvel, Hyperion, Sersi

8. Avengers: Thor (Odinson), Iron Man, Vision, Captain America

9. Fantastic Four: Invisible Woman, Thing, Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic

Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal), Martian Manhunter, Flash (Barry), Aquaman, Batman vs.

1. X-Villains: Magneto, Apocalypse, Juggernaut, Exodus
Despite the numbers advantage, this is a tough fight, because any of these four are good, even matches for the most powerful on the JLA...I'd probably pick Superman against any except maybe Apocalypse 1 on 1, but they'd be close.

I'm going to have Batman use his prep right off the bat, just to make sure he gets that helmet off Marco's head for an MM victory...I doubt even 'working together' that Exodus is going to actively protect him, and that makes this a less brutal fight and though I think the JLA would win anyway, they won't be anywhere near as beat up after this fight than they would be.

2. X-Men: Rogue, Storm, Colossus, Wolverine

This is a big step back in the difficulty rating...could still be tough with Wolverine being more resilient than they expect, and if Rogue manages to absorb some of their power (I'm assuming classic Rogue, so if there's a different version I'm supposed to use let me know), but while Storm's hurricane can cause severe problems for Batman, the league is just too powerful...I won't go as far as to say they get a rest...with Storm's battlefield control and the possibility of Rogue absorbing powers, its dangerous, but this is a handy win for the JLA

3. Heralds: Stardust, Terrax the Tamer, Firelord, Air-Walker

And then the JLA go back into the fire..OK, Air Walker is powerful but more vulnerable than the others, but the top 3 are really tough to take out...and if Firelord decides to use area effect, multiple JLA members might well go down...I think Superman better use his sundip here, because MM is in trouble with Firelord present, and Aquaman might get pretty dried out too...I still think somebody on the JLA goes down here, so I'll say both Batman and Aquaman due to environmental damage and such, as I think MM gets saved from the Flaming guy buy Superman, and the Sundip gives supes a chance to keep the heralds from doing more damage...without the sundip, I think half the JLA might go down at this point

4. Guardians of the Galaxy: Angela, Gamora, Groot, Drax the Destroyer

OK, Superman, MM, WW, GL, and Flash, but none are at 100%...so the JLA still have numbers...Drax is no longer powerful enough to go toe to toe with the big leaguers, at least for long. Gamora is very skilled, but again, not in the league with the best...though with WW beat up, she could maybe score an upset if it went 1 on 1...I think the JLA's generall bad shape makes this a tough fight, as Angela seems pretty powerful, and while old school Groot lost to the Hulk, I think he's shown enough strength to be a threat to top tiers...the outcome is never in doubt though, but I'll say Flash goes down to Gamora...

5. Defenders: Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Hulk, Namor
Now we're 4 on 4...Superman, WW, GL, MM vs. Surfer, Strange, Hulk, and Namor...WW wears her armor and gets her sword...I think Namor goes down to any of them at this point, though they're hurt...and hurt, I think they're going to have a very hard time beating Hulk or Surfer, and I think Strange makes it a very bad day...I think the Defenders win it, though fresh, against the whole team, it would go to the JLA.
