I'm unclear whether Tom Felton was even contracted beyond the one series, but for an actor used to working in Film and one linear storyline work on a show as wildly uneven and chaotic as The Flash was this past season was likely disappointing to say the least. To be sold a part that is promising one thing, then find yourself experiencing the worst kind of turbulence and changes that television production can bring might well sour you to the genre altogether...

Nontheless his character fulfilled its purpose, it is hard to see where he could have progressed for this second not-so-popular season and The Flash has already a rather top-heavy cast of better established and more personal characters that require servicing this season. One has to suspect his departure was by mutual consent more than Felton unilaterally making the decision himself.
