While I can understand the frustration regarding having less "story time" due to the splash pages I thought the issue was great. It wrapped up the storyline, it felt very old school and I felt that the art gave some great throwbacks to the original Green Lantern Rebirth miniseries.

I can totally respect the issues with Van Sciever that you raised... however, I'm not sure those issues can properly be placed at his feet. Perhaps the script called for the splashpages. Maybe the editor asked for them. Maybe the script was based, in part, on the artist's perceived strengths (some splash pages in this instance).

I like his art... you raise some good points but I thought what he did fit the story... the splash pages you mentioned were the ones that I thought "Cool!" when I first saw them.

That being said, I never really base my comic buys on the artist... the art has to be pretty horrendous for it to take me out of the story.
