Quote:Just curious if anyone has read it.
I thought it was a decent enough crossover.
Both were okay. This coming from someone who typically loathes trans-company crossovers.
Quote:Anyone going to the Planet of the Apes crossover?
Quote:Anyway, some brief thoughts.
-Carol Ferris being in love with Scotty seemed forced and out of place. She's Hal's girl not Scotty's.
Well, I think the Hal thing is a ship that's sailed a while ago, but seeing her with Scotty is tough.
Quote:-Puzzling why there is a need for a part II. Then there's the end where it suggests there might be planned part III. Meh.
There's no "need" for any of it, but if it's popular enough... Eh. Why not.
Quote:-Hal and Kirk fly to a system with a Red sun. This implies Krypton exists and...Superman? As cool as it would be to see Superman meet Kirk, do we really need to see it?
Superman comics didn't exactly invent the idea of red suns.
Quote:-I find it very strange that the Guardians, and Oa, and the Manhunters, already exist in the Star Trek Universe. Or even the implied Krypton along with Kryptonians. But whatever.
This is the sort of thing that has bugged me all along (from the first mini). GL people and things just seemed to pop from out of nowhere. At first, there was only the rings and an alt-universe Guardian's corpse. Then, suddenly, Hal and other lanterns just seemed to show up as needed for the plot. Now, it just grows.
Quote:-The writer of this crossover obviously has no idea how Red rings work. The moment Khan puts on that red ring, he should have become a brainless animal of rage. Instead, he retains the ability to speak...meh.
Red rings are no longer like that. They explained that it was a manipulation by Attrocitus to keep his people down.
