Yeah. Having him speak can only work temporarily.

I agree. And as far as I can tell, we won't be hearing him speak any longer.

I'm not so concerned with him being a traditional hero.

Me either. I never even considered it until this conversation got my wheels turning. Gotta admit, he'd make a great Superman for Attilan. I don't need him to do that. But I wouldn't be opposed to it.

But we need to get in his head and understand him. Otherwise, it's better to just replace him with a big honking laser cannon. He's totally unnecessary unless he's blasting something with his voice.

Agreed. Medusa might as well have a sonic bazooka she affectionately names "Black Bolt." One nice thing about the current book is the use of Black Bolt's electron manipulation. This power has been part of the character from the earliest days. (See pic.) Yet a lot of modern writers have focused entirely on the voice.

As for getting into Black Bolt's head, I presume the character Blinky will facilitate that for the reader. I hope and expect Blinky will be the narrator for the next story arc.

I hope to see Black Bolt driven by guilt into becoming a better person than he ever otherwise would have been. The Absorbing Man's role in this is inevitable now, yet would never have seemed plausible before the arc began.
