There's no Cap solicitation here!

Who is it that gets killed indeed!

I think Marvel fully intends to bring Cap back especially if there's a lot of public interest... Interest which could lead to a movie.

On the flipside this is getting old, first Thor now Cap (maybe). There's a better way to write stories than this dull, obvious and sensationalistic method.

Makes sense. How do you make the Marvel Universe grim, gritty, and noirish? Remove the moral compass. The powers that be are clearly in favor of "realism" (i.e. deeply flawed characters) as opposed to heroism. Cap is a hero that's typically portrayed as without flaws. But lately he's been portrayed not as a paragon worthy of awe and respect, but a man too slow to realize that the times have changed and left him behind. Cap really doesn't fit in today's Marvel Universe.

In other words - I think you're on to something here, autochron.

Great! Just as I plan on returning to read Marvel comics in March (Post-Civil War) ..... the theory that it's Steve Rogers/Captain America getting killed would really suck.

It would suck alright. I refuse to believe that "realistic", "gritty" and "noir" means a constant barrage of the worst that humanity has to offer. I really feel that Marvel is going down the wrong path and it's going to hurt them in the long run.

Maybe I'm wrong: the cognitive dissonance of the lowest common denominator seems to always win out. That is not a good thing. Except for ammorality and making the bucks that is... Sigh.

Maybe the whole Winter Soldier thing was planned long ago, to replace Cap with Bucky? That way, the Captain America solo series can continue with a newer, edgier Cap.

There are no Superman solits for April either, does that mean Superman gets killed soon? No. It means that Marvel and DC aren't as well-run as they're supposed to and have trouble getting books out on time...

Yeah I'd say that's true.
