In the comic the Exiles about reality hopping super heroes they encounter a veriety of worlds with various versions of our favorite heroes. However most of the time the avengers end up evil or killed by whatever the exiles are trying to prevent. Anyway there is a second team called weapon x made up of i guess you could say darker characters. One of these characters on weapon x was Tony Stark, the armor he was wearing was very close to the hulkbuster armor. Anyway in his world, he ended up causeing a weapons race in an attempt to protect the world. However this backfires causeing WW3 and stark ends up becoming the worlds most wanted man and is to be executed upon capture. Now I'm thinking maybe this world that version of stark came from is not an alternate reality but a time loop.Inother words the events on his world are the future of 616. Think about it, he becomes powerful enough to actually start an arms race, which at this point he does in 616. The hulk buster armor and the third world war. I'm startign to think, what if this world is 616's future.

Hulk will return and after conventional weaponry and the heroes cant stop his wrath, stark dcides to up the anty and starts using stronger and stronger weaponry, while other contries do the same out of fear. Eventually all this backfires causeing global destruction and making stark the worlds most wanted man.

I don´t think so.

Iron Man is trying to AVOID an arms race. Civil War was about CONTAINMENT, not escalation. In fact, the man has been about disarmement for years now. He is all-too-aware of the power of the armor he himself wears, and of the destruction just one person with too much power could cause. That is also what the Initiative is for: checks and balances. One person with the power of a god would mean the end of the world. TWO people with such power, however... might not.
Tony might create a police state, but he would not start a war. He went one-on-one with King Thor to stop a war, for pete´s sakes.

On a different note: as massive as the Hulkbuster-like armor of Weapon-X-Iron Man was, that Tony Stark was a scrawny little guy. Our Tony is fairly buff.

True but i'm saying he might be pushed to that extreme i it ment putting down the hulk. Because none of us can predict what will happen by the end of WWH. Tony very well could be pushed to that extreme in a moment of utterdesperation. Ya know kill thousands to save billions.

Another note the fate of the weapon x tony is longshot took out one of his eyes and they sent him back without his armor to be put to death.

Also in a recent exiles issue they showed another world very similar to 616 in this world stark was ironman and the oresident but he was assassinated by hydra and the hand. I think its very possible that stark might become president. and even tho i hate stark hes still be better then bush \:P

He might want to contain and regulate superheroes, but the SHRA virtually puts every registered and trained hero at the beck and call of the government and its various known and secret agencies- black ops, wetwork and deniable actions included.

Every registered hero is now essentially a Thunderbolt without a criminal record.

Eh... Stark is smarter (not saying much), and Stark does have better intentions.

Like I said... checks and balances. Maybe it´s less fun, but it´s safer.
Also: the superheroes may be at the beck and call of the government... but how much power does that government really have over an army of superheroes? Once the heroes get organized... get consensus... get unionized... gain positions in that government... they can work the system from within.
It is a necessary and inevitable development. There are no superbeings in government... yet. How long before the first superpowered president?

On Genosha, they tried to turn superpowered people into slaves. That worked... for a while.

I´m not worried. I trust Tony Stark´s vision (although he himself might not be strong enough to see it through...)
