...the New Avengers have charged someone with the Ronin costume, but the question is who. Brevoort assures us that the person behind the mask will be jarring, but perhaps the clues were there all along, saying that we will be "not terribly shocked, as it all makes a lot of sense once the figure behind the mask is revealed. And doubtless, some will be happy and some will be outraged."

There are some pages that make it seem almost certain that Ronin is.....Clint Barton.

Go http://www.marvel.com/news/comicstories.1003 to see the preview.

I've attached a close up of one of the figures - there are very few other superheroes that it could be given ALL the proof, as well as the blonde/built/rugged look this character seems to be sporting here - who else could Ronin be?

No offense, but there are at least 2 other Clint=Ronin threads on the page. Surely you could've used one of those.

Should anyone be Surprised ? HOUSE OF M featured Hawk as Part of Cage's Team in that Series w Wolverine & Fist & Spidey Kinda. We figure he was Tracking down Wanda during Civil War and We KNOW he showed up at Doc Strange's House. He's been trained by Cap, mistrusts the Govt and has Excellent fighting skills. (Gyrich especially). If you remember AVENGERS vol 2#? They were shot back to Arthurian Times & Brainwashed.Hawkeye was Cap's First recruit because he always had a "Strongest Sense of Being an Avenger? Heart and Soul of A Team " or Something like that. The House of M,the Fact that Cap was EXEMPT from House of M& the Fact that he's 'Gone' can be an Interesting story. He's been alive and dead, went into Hell and back,Literally.when THE DEAD AVENGERS came back, his wife said to tell "Hawkeye something",then there was the business with SHE HULK and the time travel & don't forget he LITERALLY cheated Death with a Carnival Prank. Hawk is too much of a Loose Cannon to take the Mantle Of Capt. America and respected him too much to try and fill his spot.
Hardest part about reading team books is when there are too many characters with their OWN BOOKS? the continuity gets screwed up.

Looks like Ronin is Clint Barton after all. I wonder what he is doing at Strange's home? Wonder how they will talk him into being Ronin and join their team?

Perhaps it's Bob Diamond of the Sons of the Tiger? It dawned on me just last night that maybe Ronin was one of those guys.

And surely having preview art which may prove the hypothesis is something that i think qualifies it to have a new thread, especially when the subject is about the only thing talked about on the board lately - that and who the new Cap is.

I do think though, that the new Cap'll prob be pro-reg which means Ronin = anti-reg. This puts Hawkeye squarely in the Ronin category and not the Cap category. Check out this preview ART FOR fALLEN sON: cAPTAIN aMERICA

"Cap" is trying to apprehend (not kill or hurt) the Young Avengers - so that means he'sprob working for Iron Man. Iron Man doesn't want to hurt anymore heroes (espeially the young ones) and if Cap were working for Shield or the Mighty Avengers, I think it'd be a different story. The phaser would be set to kill not stun.

What if Clint is working both sides as a double agent? Hence the need for the Ronin gear when with the New Avengers.

But why would he have to work with the New Avengers? Couldn't he just feed them info as the new Cap? It doesn't strike me that the New Avengers particularly NEED another member - what purpose does having Ronin on the team serve - especially if he's also the new cap? Not to mention that I'm almost positive that someone would notice if the New Cap and the New Ronin were never in the same place at the same time.

Also, some of the members have acute senses that'd be able to pick up who both Ronin and Cap are if they know them, and they'd certainly be able to tell if they're the same person.

Iron Man's suit would be able to figure it out. So would Wolverine. And possibly Ares. Just not a good plan, but that doesn't mean it is going to happen.

this all becomes a moot point if Hawk is unscentable, untrackable, etc because of Wanda's magic, and if he isn't then why hasn't anyone gone looking for him yet? If they had, they prob would've found him right away...They know he's alive (or that he might be) - they saw the suit at the mansion.
