Can you imagine the negative publicity that would result from such a story, though? Marvel's under fire enough as it is thanks to retconing Spidey and killing Cap. If they wrote a story which had the president of the united states revealed as an alien from outer space(not a nameless invented one like in most of these types of stories, but the ACTUAL president), every newspaper in the country would be out for Joe and Bendis' heads.

A better idea would be a high-up government agent who doesn't actually exist in real life.

Image, specifically Jim Lee already did this, almost. When he first introduced Wildcats, the Damenoites had possessed the then VP Dan Quayle. Dan Quayle was one of the villains of the piece.

Heck, just look at the Secret Empire and Black Lama stories of 1970s Marvel.

Frankly, I think comics should have the guts to do more stories like this.

> I think the woman who complained to Stark about her son's death is a Skrull, and for others i wonder what was wrong with Wonder Man? Ms. Marvel seemed to be finishing his sentences for him. Remember the Skrulls can also hypnotize.

I think the general is a Skrull and possibly Lindy. It makes sence, to have the Earth's most powerful hero doubt himself and forget who he is, and possibly have everyone else forget who he is too. Maye even Ares too, ultron asked him if he really was Ares god of war.

I was like 12 years old when the secret empire story ran in the 70's. Even though we had no idea about politics, my friends and I all knew that the man who committed suicide in the oval office was suppose to be Richard Nixon. Not an alien impersonating him, not an evil robot. The real Richard Nixon. That story didn't break any headlines and Secret Service agents didn't rain down on Marvel. Bush being a skrull is no big deal. Shoot it might even be an improvement. The big question is did the skrull take him before his second term started? If so "W" would be eligible for re-election.
