. . . who would you choose. No one from the current two teams and lets just say they are on the West Coast or something.

Here's my picks.

1) The New Captain America
2) Storm
3) Captain Marvel
4) Falcon
5) She-Hulk
6) Ant-Man
7) White Tiger
8) Black Panther

Just my picks. I think Marvel could almost get by with another Avengers team book. (X-men certainly seems to always have four or five teams out there.)

Winter Soldier
Hawkeye
Ant-Man(irredeemable)
Scarlet Spider(MVP clone)-in black costume

These guys would do the jobs that the main Avengers teams wouldnt be caught dead doing. The Govt needs somebody taken out...they go to these guys.

I'd drop White Tiger and add Namor. Good choices!

Do we ignore the Initiative counselors as well? Because I'd add War Machine to any team, if you'll let me. \:\)

Mine are, in this scenario:

Vision
Stature
Hellcat
Gargoyle
Jocasta
Black Knight
Tigra

I agree... we can safely afford more Avengers, or at least Avengers-related teams.

Under that restriction (or even without it), I'd go for a book titled "Avengers Family", starring Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Crystal.

If they weren't respectively dead, insane/amnesiac, insane, and turned into a cartoonishly-promiscuous joke-character, anyways.

I've been tossing around an idea in my head for the last few days for a relaunch of West Coast Avengers. The set up is that they are temporarilly on the West Coast to clear up the gang problem out there. The team is:

USAgent, still unregistered and something of a celebrity. He's really popular as a former Cap, given Cap's cult status.
Yellow Jacket and War Machine on loan from the initiative.
Moon Knight drafted in because he has now registered. It turns out he also spent his spare time while an Avenger fighting the gangs.
Living Lightning because he knows a few things about gangs.

There's a SHIELD agent watching over them. She's the agent from the Cap/Falcon series - the one who got involved with the Falcon. She get's called Mockingbird around the office and it eventually sticks (especially when she fights her way out of a bar with a pair of cues).

Finally (almost finally) the Falcon himself makes seven. He will never register and so can't really get onboard. An exception was made for USAgent and this really upsets Falcon. He feels like he's being governmented off the project (like before), but he won't sign up no matter what. Lots of fun there.

And finally, finally: hints and clues for the first year, but yes, Clint Barton is keeping a close eye on this team.

Outing Lightning? Yes, but as a Dominicus stooge ALL ALONG. Got to get the Phantom Rahder in there somewhere too as their nemesis - yee har. I should be writing this stuff.

The Order is California.

Yours can be Team Oregon.

And how 'bout:

USAgent completes his Canada mission and is recalled, by Tony, to lead the Washington team. Washington State that is. The team will be called West Coast Avengers as homage. Tony also wants to show (readers) some respect for members of the past Avengers incarnations by bending Initiative some rules and training protocols. To end up with:

USAgent
Living Lightning
Two Gun Kid
Stingray
Hellcat
Firebird

He also reprograms somewhat Jocasta to serve as a monitor.

(nb: Am willing to co-plot!)

I'd base the new Whackos in San Francisco with the following team members:

Photon (leader)
Black Knight
Hercules
Justice
Silverclaw
Living Lightning
Shroud
Jennifer Kale

With Amadeus Cho as the tech wiz sidekick to the team.

It's the Stern era core characters paired with some fresh young Avengers who need some further development. Shroud and Jennifer Kale have both operated on the West Coast before and add some fresh new characters.

Eventually, I'd love to pry Wonder Man away from the East Coast and get him to California again.

Hawkeye7

Hawkeye (leader)
Captain Monica (co-leader)
War Machine
Black Knight
Hercules
She-Hulk
Justice
Hellcat
Songbird

Hawkeye recruits an old school team that knows what it means to really be an Avenger and tries to restablish the glory days. Surpisingly, Songbird, Hellcat, Rhodey, and Herc might actually understand something Tony doesn't about being an Avenger. I would eventually bring in Angel (Champions angle), Mach IV, Black Widow, and maybe Nighthawk--probably doing so without losing anyone from my original roster if I can help it.
