Reply Subj: Much More Than a fight Issue [SPOILERS]

I'm currently rereading through most of my Avengers run. I just got past what I consider the worse era of the title Avengers 203 thru 255 (where Vision tries to take over the world.) I don't have all the issues any more and even though I try and repurchase so I can have a full-run of the Avengers, I can't bring myself to spend more than a quarter or so on those books.

Well, anyway. What really amazed me is that towards the end, the writer was Roger Stern. (I don't know when he started writing the book). But at 256, the quality of the book jumped light years ahead. The writer didn't change. The artists did. Busicmeic (sorry I butchered the spelling) and Palmer took over the writing and I'd swear, even the writing, the dialogue, the plots, all improved.

Weird isn't it. I have to agree with those who say, good art can save a bad story, but no matter how good the story is, if the art is lousy, the writing can't save it. (That's not to say, Stern's writing was bad after 255.)
