I loved Wolverine and the X-Men and lost it. I love Avengers: EMH even more. It's the only reason I have DisneyXD.

The movie was great, but I have no desire to see a cartoon based off it. If anyone has any good ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Nothing to be done. The show is cancelled and there's nothing we can do as fans. It has nothing to do with the fan reception or ratings, but simply Disney's strategy (and the strategy of others that produce animated cartoons) to have shows on few around 2 years and then cancel them. Disney in particular is a huge proponent of limited a series run, with the so called 65th episode rule. This idea is that only 65 episodes will ever be produced. This show didn't even make it that far, with only 52 episodes. Other shows lasted the same: Batman The Brave and Bold (65 episodes), The Batman (65), Teen Titans (65). Avengers EMH lasted only 52.

We don't really know what the cartoon is going to be like. This isn't surprising, as Marvel basically announced the show a couple of months ago.

I hear it's going the "New Avengers" route. That's too bad.

Supposedly it's going to use the characters from the movie (Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, etc) and go from there. As for what the final product will be, it's too early to say.

Avengers Assemble, like the recently launched Marvel comic series of the same name, to reflect the lineup of the blockbuster live-action film — Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye — plus the Falcon. Presumably additional details will be provided next month at Comic-Con International.

But where did you get any information that it's going to be about the New Avengers?

the change seems so pointless. They'll have almost the exact same line up. Except they'll lose Hank Pym and Wasp and switch the Black Panther for Falcon.

Plus: the Avengers:EMH truly uses the entire MArvel universe which has soooo much more to offer than the movie version.

My bad. I saw "new Avengers" in the headline. My mind took it from there. I believe it's going to be about the Avengers in the movie, plus the Falcon. Here you go:

It's the same information you have, it seems. I almost wish the new cartoon was going to feature the New Avengers.

We don't know the official lineup yet. And even if it's just the movie characters in the beginning, they are likely to add and subtract members as the show goes on.

And to be fair, the Avengers is a huge movie, much bigger than expected, so it definitely makes sense to put out a cartoon show based on it. AEMH's death has been predicted for a while, and really the announcement of this new show came out a few months ago.

This also seems to suggest that the Falcon will be introduced in the Captain America sequel as well.

Nothing to say that the new show won't do that as well. Rumors are round suggesting that the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and the Hulk Agents of Smash cartoon will all be set in the same universe as the new Avengers cartoon.

Honestly, AEMH hasn't been that great. The animation isn't that great, and I dislike the antiquated designs. Even the storytelling is weak, with basically done in one episodes of popular stories with little long term plotting. Compare that to a show like Young Justice which has really good animation, beautiful design work, incorporates a lot of DC's other characters and ideas, tells original stories, and has massive subplots.

It's a no brainer that DC's animated series/movies are much better then Marvel's. I enjoy AEMH but to me it is not as good as Young Justice which is such a joy to watch every week. I would love if Marvel took a queue from that and made a Young Avengers series.

DC's animated stuff IS better.

But Avengers EMH is the best we ever got from Marvel. With them canceling it's a pretty safe bet Marvel will never come close to matching the quality of DC's animated series.

Not only is the best we got from Marvel... it was also the first time that they included the whole Marvel Universe into the stories. Yet DC has had 2 pretty good rendition of there "universe". But Marvel barely gets one. Yes the animations was so so, but a lot of people enjoyed the fact they villains like Death Adder, or Mandril would pop up. It just really doesn't fair.

I love EMH. I am uninterested in USM, and if the new Avengers cartoon goes the same way, I'll pass.
I may pass anyway, since apparently even if I do enjoy it and it does great in the ratings, it will be done in two seasons anyway.

I disagree on the "strategy" part. I can name many animated shows on Disney, Cartoon Network, Nick that have surpassed the 65 show limit. Looks like Iron Man:the Armor Adventures will go into a 3rd season (or at least the last I read) In the case of Avengers it's "re-strategizing". They are wanting to capitalize on the movie's success and apparently Disney doesn't think they can do that with Avengers EMH. But there is no episode limit...the ones you site is more coincidence than anything. Especially Disney....how many episode of Phineas and Ferb have been made? And that will keep going for some time for sure.
