TOP 10 things for Hank Pym to do:

Maybe...

1 Readdress the fact that he is or is not actively still searching for Jan in Underspace, even if only behind the scenes.
2 Explain why he wouldn't recreate the Magic Doorway System, if not the Infinite Mansion itself.
3 Invite Bill Foster's nephew, out of respect for Bill, to leave Damage Control and/or Revengers to join Avengers Academy and/or just be a protege.
4 Look in on Ultron whom Avengers have forseen will cause big problems (since Point One issue and from the Kang/Ultron arc) in defiance of the marriage pact with Jocasta.
5 Reexamine Pym Particle Science and present the hazards of its usage/copying/stealing by any Tom, Dick or Harry - reasserting more Giant-Man uniqueness that Marvel will move towards.
6 Clean up more messes, contradictions, and false pretenses that Citri Nol caused.
7 Cure Firestar once and for all.
8 Get personally involved in dealing with The Descendants.
9 Commit or do not commit to his on again off again with Tigra.
10 Clear up every lingering reader questions regarding the self-activated and returned Vision.

Yes, no, or what would you list?

Damned if he does damned if he doesn't.

Remember he in many ways has many reason not to look for her as well (Disassembled all started because of Jan's affair with Clint). Every time things go well for them she puts Hank thru the ringer again, and again. But he is stuck in a plot element that he has no choice but to look for her.

    He should.

Ala Iron Man's Iron Wars... Hank Pym's Particle War

6 Clean up more messes, contradictions, and false pretenses that Citri Nol caused.
7 Cure Firestar once and for all.
That should have been resolved years ago, now Firestar always seems on the back burner.

8 Get personally involved in dealing with The Descendants.
9 Commit or do not commit to his on again off again with Tigra.

Hell yeah... every nerdy kid would love to see Hank in the middle of a love triangle. If that he does commit then Wasp has to come back.
I wonder how Wasp would handle a "sexier" Avenger after the man she always spurned over and over again.
10 Clear up every lingering reader questions regarding the self-activated and returned Vision.

Isn't that a Tony issue?

This is a pet peeve of mine. [Rant on] Hank should be the premiere shrink/grow hero in the Marvel universe and he should freaking acknowledge that. No one should ever have the level of mastery that he has. [Rant off]

He should sacrifice his life so that Wasp can live again. Pym's death should then be treated as sacred and never undone.

I think this was somewhat addressed with the reasoning being that the system was unstable. While it's a neat idea, it has no place in the MU.

The character has been annoying since his introduction. I don't really see a place for him at this point. AA already has a big enough cast that has underutilized charaters.

Agreed, that there should be a limitation on the number of size changers.

Do not commit. The relationship doesn't work.

These are together in the regard that Hank Pym should be the unofficial fixer of all things broken in the MU. He's one of the leaders in both genetics and technology, so it would make sense for him to try and solve problems in these areas. He also has a history with being "damanged" so he should actively seek every opportunity to both redeem himself by doing good and by helping others. When Captain America's super solider serum is acting up (in the recent Captain America arc) it should be Pym Cap goes to for help. When the X-Men are building a new school, Pym should be there to help. When the Avengers are making plans to defeat the Phoenix, Pym should be there. When the Vision gets damanged, Pym should be there. For all the intelligence that Pym has, we never see him solve any problems.

Ideally, I think I would like to see an Avengers book that worked in a similar way to the most recent New Mutants and X-Men Legacy titles. Pym should lead a title that's sole purpose to pick up on loose threads, character fixes, and help fill in other missing pieces. It could include a whole list of other "damaged" Avengers, such as the Scarlet Witch, the Vision, WonderMan, the Wasp, etc.

11. Spending less time playing with the Secret Avengers and Thunderbolts, and more time working on a cure for Hazmat, Mettle and Veil, as he promised... Whoops, too late!

No need. The only reason he thought he found her in Underspace was because Carina made him think that. There's simply no reason for anyone to believe that Jan survived being blown up... except the preponderance of people who survive such things in the Marvel Universe. But even if she did survive, she could be anywhere... or anywhen. There's no reason to think she's in Underspace. Frankly, she's more likely to turn up in Asgard.

Pretty sure he did this. Hence the Secret Avengers' use of The Pymporter.

Don't think he should be in the Academy (which is closed right now anyway). He's too old for that. The Academy is/was for teen kids, not adults in college. But Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts or something... maybe... assuming Tom even wants that. He doesn't seem to.

    Quote:
4 Look in on Ultron whom Avengers have forseen will cause big problems (since Point One issue and from the Kang/Ultron arc) in defiance of the marriage pact with Jocasta.

How do you propose he do that? Ultron could be anywhere.

    Quote:

No. Pym Particles are not unique. They're part of the fabric of the universe. He was only the first human to discover them. Otherwise, they're free for all.

Eh. Perhaps.

Honestly, the cancer story was stupid. It was already established that she has a natural immunity to her powers. The special suit was supposed to kickstart it.

Huh? They seem extremely committed. They're positively parental, right now... not just with the Academy kids, but their own.

Pretty sure that's what the Ultron War is supposed to do. It's coming. Patience.

Huh. Didn't realize Carina fabricated ALL the evidence/theories he had on Jan surviving in some altered state. Will have to go back and reread how definitively Hank concluded that Jan was dead means dead after that arc. Ifff that is the case then replace #1 with 'Visit Jan's grave occasionally on panel and update his efforts he is doing to protect women in her name.'

Thought the Pymporter was more along the lines of sending Venom via cell phone signal. The name suggests that they're shrunk down - which they'd have to be to materialize inside the Lighthouse anyways. This seeems like a different science than the Magic Doors; in fact; those doors seem more likely comparable to the Negative Zone Portals that were used during CW. Come to think of it, he should also expose why that tech isn't still common practice - NOT that it should be a JLA world.

Fair enough. Just a mention of him (and the Revengers at this point) in passing then.

Totally believed that his wedding pact with Jocasta banished him to a specific dimension or world or somesuch. Look for him there first. If not, just ask Jocasta. Employ any superduper techtracking methods that exist. Maaaybe consider time travel history check - as DISTASTEFUL as this option there is recent precident where heroes have rationalized this. Failing all that call for a Red Alert or Defcon 4 or whatever. (Also going to reread those vows - but after this week's haul.)

True. But he seems uniquely qualified for SAFELY harnessing and retrieving for so long now. There's still stories where the product is on the blackmarket making it easier to steal than to obtain it. It would be interesting to see (reread) a sequence detailing how difficult it is for Joe Blow to bottle and if it is always pure or if there is a degree of quality to it if used methodically or willy nilly.

Supposedly, it's Angelica's own fault she got cancer. In Avengers 12, Hank told Angel that if she wears the suit for six months, then she'll be okay. The explanation they came up with was that Angel stopped wearing the suit before the six months were up and since Pym was kidnapped by the Skrulls at the time, he wasn't able to check up on her. That explanation was flawed on several levels. For one, I can't believe that it was less than six months from Avengers 12 to New Avengers 1. Also, what about Vance? Why didn't he remind her that it wasn't six months yet? And finally, Angelica endangering her health like that is completely out of character.
