With Bendis' impending departure from the Avengers titles, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ultron War (along with all the other items from that timeline that haven't come to pass yet) will be ignored. "It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices." – Albus Dumbledore

I think what swmcbf means is that Bendis first says: "Age of Ultron is not part of the Marvel NOW! launches, but it is a very large project, and it is coming soon." then says: "It's ready to go. It'll be in Marvel NOW!, now." So is it in NOW or not? That's where the contradiction seems to be. Possibly, Bendis means that Age of Ultron won't be part of the #1 launches but will be released soon after, so maybe it's not a contradiction (at least not in his mind).

I'm not sure exactly what NOW is, but I'm guessing there is a storyline involved and not everything that overlaps with NOW necessarily has direct ties to whatever that story is.

There are some series (such as Daredevil) that won't be relaunching with Now. I suppose the Ultron War storyline could be something similar... it is just strange that a storyline like this, which involves the Avengers (who are deeply connected with the Now initiative) wouldn't be launched as a part of it. I think the thing about Now to remember is that it isn't a reboot... previous continuity is intact so storylines like the Ultron War can still potentially be told. What I really want is Slott's Destiny War!

Let me clarify. Whatever the in-universe event is that causes the new now teams to form, might have nothing to do with this story. We know the books are relaunching, but since it's not a reboot that hardly matters. I think the comments can be taken as meaning that the events resulting in the new Now teams might be unrelated to this story.

Is the Universe getting a reboot, and they get too pick and choose what still "counts"?

No. Marvel has clearly stated it isn't a reboot. Continuity will still be the same. This is more of a creative shuffle and refocus. Regarding the Ultron War my point is that it may be hard to determine where it falls timeline wise since the Avengers will be so different post AVX.

Why are people saying Marvel is getting a reboot? I've seen no indication of that and Marvel has said quite the opposite. Just because books are getting renumbered doesn't mean continuity is affected. Books start over all the time, albeit not all at once. If Marvel was going to reboot the entire universe, they wouldn't start with titles like Uncanny Avengers.
