You're asking which of these mostly rich (or royal), extremely accomplished, well-traveled, widely-experiences, extremely conventionally attractive people….is "good enough" for us regular schlubs?

I mean, leaving aside the underage dead girl, the two-least accomplished people on your list are a housewife-turned-multimillionaire author who's personally faced down the hordes of Hell, a veteran of three super-teams with a fancy private school education and a graduate degree who teaches at a school for super-children, and a woman who reverse-engineered super-science and lived in the future for awhile. Unless we have among us a billionaire Olympic athlete with three PhD and a long history of saving the world, I think they can all do quite a bit better than anyone here.

Well, sure.

The royal, rich, extremely accomplished, well-traveled, widely-experienced, extremely attractive are not better than us regs.

You some elitist or something? ;\-\)

With the possible exception of Jennifer Walters, I don't think anyone on this list is good enough for me.

I didn't say they were ontologically or innately better, I said they could "do better" and implied -- quite correctly, -- that if these were real people who'd done and been the things they've done and been, you'd be as likely to meet and strike up a relationship with any of the listed characters as you are to land a date with Eli Manning or Scarlett Johansson.

Like their way or mode of being? I was just curious how you meant that. It's an interesting line of thought.

Your very correct point concerning rank and order notwithstanding, I think the original poster was just asking which Avenger you'd want to marry, not which one you'd be able to if they were real.

In that case, none of 'em. I don't think there'd be too much in common, and I wouldn't want to be married to someone who might die to violence, or, this being comics, become the victim of demonic possession, body-switching, or plot-induced omnicidal mania.

    Hellcat

I doubt it.

    Quote:
    Mockingbird

Would be nearly perfect, except I don't go blonde.

    Quote:
    She Hulk

Quite possibly a dream come true. Green, nerdy, gorgeous, strong. But I probably wouldn't be fit to be hers. Literally, too.

    Quote:
    Sersi

Too much of a party girl.

    Quote:
    Crystal

Too flaky. And blonde. And a royal. And an evil Inhuman. I'd sooner marry Lockjaw.

    Quote:
    Madame Web

Again, the blonde problem.

    Quote:
    2nd YellowJacket

Maybe, but I don't think we ever saw enough of her for me to make a judgment.

    Quote:
    Jocasta

I'll admit I've got a big Sorayama art fetish thing, but uh... think I'll pass.

    Quote:
    Wasp

I've never been able to respect the woman. No. Too... fashionista.

    Quote:
    Carol Danvers

Her problem with alcohol is a problem. I doubt I would be with a non-drinker. And the blonde thing.

    Quote:
    Spider Woman

No need for pheromones, baby.

    Quote:
    Tigra

Perhaps, but not nerdy enough.

    Quote:
    Black widow

I think it boils down to a trust issue. The whole ex-spy thing makes it impossible for me. Otherwise, she'd be nearly perfect. She's only lacking the nerdiness.

    Quote:
    Stature

Uh... it's not even legal, right? Well, maybe in Utah. But no!

    Quote:
    Firebird

Too Christian.

    Quote:
    Firestar

Don't find her interesting enough.

    Quote:
    Scarlet witch

Just not intriguing enough. And uh... look what she did to Clint.

This thread is unacceptably sexist. Well done to all involved. Moving on...

To prove this scientifically, I am going to list the worst things about dating an Avenger, in order:

1 I might get killed by Ultron
2 she might get killed by Ultron
3 she might have a deeply unpleasant back story
4 she might be numb to killing
5 she might be kinda alien

Honestly, leaving out everyone who is 3, 4 or 5, and still picking someone who can protect me and herself from Ultron, there really is one choice: Monica Rambeau.

Add to that her ability to travel almost instantaneously, which means she needn't be away all the time, and I think we have a winner.

Knowing my luck I would get a skank like Mantis who is being pimped out by plants to make her more wordly and has a kid from the time she banged a shrub.

Nothing about the topic is sexist.

Except, well, it only focuses on "wife." Perhaps be more inclusive and ask about spouses/sig others, in general.

But still, it's not sexist to focus just on the hetero men's opinions.

He's free to post the female and/or male on male equivalent post. Let it never be said comicboards discriminates.

Wanda in particular seems like a train wreck. Has Wanda ever been been gainfully employed? Or went to school? Or had her immunization shots? Does she know how to drive? The two men she was with were a robot and the other one was a cluster of ionic energy that thinks he's people.

I imagine she has an odd assortment of skills and interests:

1. Terrorist tactics
2. Magic
3. Gypsy related arts and crafts
4. Tips on what to do when one is possessed
5. Eliminating mutants
6. Creating children from demon soul fragments
7. Robot seduction
8. Chaos Theory
9. Animal Husbandry...aka how to find Bova a man.

One wonders just what you would have a conversation with Wanda about.

Century: Your Alien Hero

I mean, these kinds of things aren't that uncommon, but I really appreciate and approve of how this one is "marry" rather than the usual "date" or "hump" posts, and yet it's also "which one is worthy of you?", with all of the balance of power and betterness which that statement implies.

And of course, no-one is worthy of sharing the same planet as Your Alien Hero, so there's no "answer" here (and you may have wasted your time reading this if you were expecting one), but I encourage you all to carry on, that "pimped out by plants" line was the most hilarious thing I've read here in months.
