Uncanny Avengers 017

OMG! Marvel's going to have to cancel all of it's Earth based titles!! Arrrggghhh... Yeah. Riiight. () The only thing to wait for now is to see who and how the Cosmic Reset Button gets pushed. And the prospects do not look that... entertaining. It looks like it HAS to be Thor for this title to mean anything - which really it still doesn't.

• thank goodness for the PrevPage clearing up 'definitively' what happened last issue with 'deaths' and all *which also suggests a lacking quality of last issues exposition of what happened*
• boring voiceovers on first page. "THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE." There almost has to be since all the Death and Destruction has probably been used up.
• while it's nice to see the REAL Avengers and Earth's heroes team up it just reinforces to me how much the UNITY Avengers are not worthy. Not that Earth's heroes did anything to write home about.
• sooo, it's (undoubtedly) the real Dr.Doom playing nice (w/terrible continuity placement)
• sooo, a SCARY Earth tech precident set that the Avengers and their allies will have resources to shield the entire Earth anytime. Blecch. Courtesy Doom and Hulk (and probably Starktech). Blecch. Unless details are tweaked that it was keyed only to Celestial forces.
• a real joy that Machine Man was called in - even if used inefficiently
• that is a Terrible, with a capital T , lowercase "t" in the supertext font. It looks like the no.1. Sorry, but that letterer nitpick really bothered me
• Eimin vs Thor fight was evocative
• Sooo, the Wasp won't kill to save the Earth - or herself. Was she hitting skrulls to subdue during S.I. before she blew up? Can't decide to rant or rave about these topical ethics she shows. At least it generates debate.
• Reaper vs Cap fight was evocative
• Thor communes with Celestial. Fat lot of good it did him. EVERYTHING goes BOOM! But PROPS to him. He was Earth's last hope. If nothing else this series has been like his own 2nd title with his stature so preeminent in this storyline particularly
• Odin is a big fat dummy. His history of benefitting form his access to prescience is abysmal once more. Did he just leave Asgardia residents to blow up? Baffling and/or shameful. Guess he doesn't care about all that worship-energy either since it's all gone now
• Maybe the next issue is probably much more mutant oriented with the survivors on that ship or some delayed Scarlet Witch probability altering? Really, are there any good guesses to gleam? Or should Marvel just cancel all it's titles?
