Secret Avengers 002 (2014)
So that's what it's going to be like. *grumble* Move over Hawkeye and Deadpool, All-Silly now comes to a clearly branded Avengers book. *sheesh* Well, at least it was easier to read than Avengers AI this week. *bah* And another plus is the new mission statement is apparently distancing itself from the whole mindwipe crapola. *hmmph* Overall the only notable good of the issue was the dramatic Maria Hill moments and effective fast story pace (to end the mess). *sigh*
The notable NOT so good parts:
-this continuing questionable covert alliance between SHIELD and Avengers and association of these Avengers respectability to the black ops M.O.
-ridiculous lack of Drew's confidence in her performing a space mission
-no passing comment that their spacesuits were in the glove compartment or somewhere
-implication that this all-along spacecar is Natasha's own with the silly addition of the Widow Symbol add to the grill for no reason
-no further exposition on the Latverian Assassin to make his menacing more meaningful
-calling MODOK a Avenger in-story is more revolting than calling Doombot one at this point
-IMO, there's still some wiggle room to delay explaining why no one was responding to the world-menacing Magus' clandestine presence on Earth previous to events in X-Factor 6 - but no "SWORD?! Avengers AI?! Adam Brashear? Backup SHIELD?" to The Fury's world-menacing immediate threat was more irritating to accept. Plus shouldn't SHIELD have access to teleport tech? Not to mention the absense of umpteen other superhumans on speed dial that made the imminent deaths of Nick and Cheese seem kinda stupid. Their deciding(joking?) between 2 possible ways to go out rather than trying any 3rd options to live on DID NOT help either
-unlikely jokey "JEEBUS" jeering from Drew
-the symbolic odds... or was it ludicrous odds -even by Scarlet Witch standards- of conveniently needing the 3 of them to fix the dire... or was it oversimplified satellites-being-hacked problem
-Hyperdermic Mouse saves the day
-Space Net saves the day
