Red Hulk: nope

Namor: keep him with the Defenders

Agent Venom: nope

Sandman: nope; he has to be a villain

Winter Soldier: nope

Iron Fist: he's on my New Avengers list

Luke Cage: he's on my New Avengers list

Hercules: I'd put him on my team alongside his lifelong friend Black Knight

Superior Spider-Man: nope

Red Hulk - Tailor made for the Secret Avengers, honestly... I think he's earned his shot at redemption, but he fits better in a covert, military-styled book.

Namor - Belongs here instead of with the X-Men. Always.

Agent Venom - Love the idea behind the character and liked him with the Secret Avengers.

Sandman - Really just needs to be separated into William Baker and Flint Marko versions permanently, with the Baker version getting a new name and returning to the Avengers.

Winter Soldier A.K.A Buckycap - He works well with Avengers, both Secret and original recipe.

Dr Strange - Bendis finally won me over on Strange as an Avenger. He's more than welcome to rejoin on my behalf.

Iron Fist - Iron Fist's a perfectly acceptable Avenger.

Luke Cage - Wish Stern had got to sign him up decades ago.

Hercules - Hercules is a classic Avenger, in my opinion. He belongs here.

Superior Spiderman - Most interesting Spider-Man's been since the 90s to me. I'll miss him.

That's a great idea! If not permanently, it certainly would make for a good storyline for a while.

Just felt out of place. I think he's better as a post-Zemo Thunderbolts leader.

Stints never seem long enough.

    Agent Venom

Flash might certainly be Avengers material, but I don't like him as Venom.
Conversely, the only Venom I like, Brock, certainly is no Avenger.

    Sandman

Wasted opportunity.

    Winter Soldier A.K.A Buckycap

Did not like that entire retcon, and he seemed even worse as an Avenger, even before Cap returned.

    Dr Strange

Reservist, but I tend to think he's not suitable for a permanent post. He's above the typical superheroics thing, but whenever there's a serious magical threat, he should be front line.

    Iron Fist

He seemed like more of a financier than a real member. I wanted more, but never seemed to get it.

Sweeter than Christmas! Best addition to the Avengers roster in decades.

Like a more fun Thor. One of the big things wrong with comics today is that there's not enough Herc.

UGH! Glad that's done.

Was there a panel somewhere where red hulk said'i'm quitting the Avengers'? I'd like to see that. I know, or assume at least, Hickman did not want to use him, but I would have liked the transition to have been, you know, handled.

As for the others, I like Namor as a character and Winter soldier as Winter soldier. I was never a fan of Flash Venom or Dr Octopus as heroes. They belong in the convoluted Spider world. Strange and other magic folk are best left out of the avengers if possible. There is just no limit on what they can do which is a story killer. Iron Fist, I do not care for as an avenger, though as a solo player or hero for hire I do. Cage I really like. Bendis turned him around and the mighty book is keeping him good. I have mixed feelings about sandman and Hercules, though. I liked them, but I don't know they really fit in to a 2014 book, any more really than black knight...

Thunderbolts implied that he left because he had to have freedom to take down some of the projects that he had started before his change of character. Works for me, I suppose.

Hate this character. Best as a Hulk villain. When he was revealed to be Ross, it felt to me like JJJ becoming the Juggernaut - just really really bizarre and out of character.

    Namor

I associate him with the Defenders and the FF more than the Avengers or the X-Men.

    Quote:
    Agent Venom

Too unpredictable. Plus it's a symbiote. The Shi'ar treat symbiotes like a deadly bio-hazard. Earth really should as well.

    Quote:
    Sandman

I liked his redemption, but he'd be better as a solo hero than as an Avenger.

    Quote:
    Winter Soldier A.K.A Buckycap

Should be in the shadows. Secret Avengers or Thunderbolts, but never the prime team.

    Quote:
    Dr Strange

Reservist. And another I associate with the Defenders far more than the Avengers.

    Quote:
    Iron Fist

Didn't like his inclusion. It felt like a "me too!" when Luke became successful. Plus I never felt like his power set added anything.

    Quote:
    Luke Cage

Warming up to this guy. Never liked him in the Bendis era (aka Luke Cage & His Bantering Friends). But I really like him on Mighty right now.

    Quote:
    Hercules

Such a fun character. Loved him in Stern's Avengers in particular.

    Quote:
    Superior Spiderman

He was fun for awhile, but you'll never hear me say that Doc Ock deserves to be an Avenger.

I wish we were still in a Zemo led Thunderbolts era.

When Cap is dead, great. When Cap is alive, redundant.

    Quote:
    Dr Strange

Love the character but don't think the Avengers is the place for him.

    Quote:
    Iron Fist

Take it or leave it. Not bad at all, just not sure he brings much.

    Luke Cage

Luke has grown on me. He's a keeper.

    Quote:
    Hercules

Meh...sometimes I guess. Really depends on the rest of the line up as Herc can either be annoying or a catalyst to some great tensions (e.g. with Namor)
