Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 004 (2016)

ONCE AGAIN, this chapter was bland with a only couple of interesting potential spots mixed in.

• Dumb cover pairing.
• "EPISODE FOUR"?! Blecch to that cheesiness.
• Nine pages! NINE pages of retelling the battle from last month's, LAST month's, New Avengers ish. Sure, it's different POV's -barely- but it was anti-climactic and boring. Marvel has done this EASY scripting and still has a lots of refinement to this gimmick story device. Maybe if the books were released simultaneously and the panels and script was 100% in synch it would have been okay. Plus, this art was not as pleasing as that art.
• It's confusing me now if Coulson's Axiom Protocols are distinctly different from the Kobik Project. Phil's superior idea to contain superhumans MUST have been more than simply essentially brainwashing!
• It's STILL confusing me exactly how Coulson's Axiom Protocols are connected from the Kobik Project of the Pleasant Hill crossover hype.
• We see May and Mock pawn 4 supervillains who simultaneously job. It feels good that these 2 counterparts to the awesome TV characters triumph even though this win would feel more realistic in the MCU than here.
• A supervillain auction on DaCosta's Island STILL seems unlikely, if not wrong. And DaCosta is having armed beekeepers packed in among the auction folk? Hmm...
• No one blinks at "Logan's" presence?
• Remind me who is Kole?
• WTH is Walker's alias listed as Captain America instead of USAgent???! (yeah, yeah he was Cap once too...)
• Other than those 3 cameos - it wasn't even an entertaining auction in any way.
• Four pages! FOUR pages of Deathlok, Quake, and Simmons of simply waking up. Their banter was weak but readers do learn the TIDBIT that all of SHIELD didn't know Mel is undercover - even though it is OLD NEWS to said readers at this point.
• The last 2 pages things FINALLY get interesting as it's Walker vs "Logan" for the Axiom Protocols, a rival faction arrives underwater, the copycat Iron Man ludicrously named returns to the mix, and the surprise true identity of the copycat Canuck is revealed.
