Spoilers, just in case. I have been reading some good things about the current Sentry (Mini?) series, and I kind of want to check it out because I like the writer. I also have fond memories of the original Jenkins/Lee mini, I read all of them (The One-Shots as well.) and I really liked them when they came out (I loved pretty much all of Jenkins Marvel work at that time.). But Bendis kept on adding stuff to his origin and his power levels (I STILL don't understand how Thor killed him after he literally got beheaded and had his atoms dispersed and came back from that! Wasn't it established that he was immortal? Not "Highlander" immortal, but REALLY immortal.) to the point where I (And I think many other readers.) just got tired of and confused by him. Now, in the original mini series, Bob Reynolds was just a regular guy who had a substance abuse problem. If I remember correctly, he stumbled onto his super powers pretty much fair and square, kind of how Spider-Man and Bruce Banner did. But later Bendis did a story in the Dark Avengers series that sort of changed that and revealed that he was really a schizophrenic drug addict who had connections to HEAVEN? Wasn't it hinted that he was some kind of Angel or something? I don't have the issue (And really, I don't want to get it or read it, even if I do think that Dark Avengers was Bendis's best Avengers work and actually good.), but I did read some of this and-I don't know where this came from or why. Also, are him and The Void two SEPARATE characters, or are they one and the same? In Dark Avengers, The Void took over Bob when he became angry or unstable, but in the original mini-series, I remember them being two completely different characters? Has his origin been clarified since then? I am hoping that they did away with this angel revelation. If anyone can clarify any of this or let me know what his current origin is so that I can get involved in the current series, I appreciate this. Thank You.
