Colorful but misleading cover. First date was whole focus but a bit slow 'til the battle. Mellowing Batman?! Ms Brackett interlude. Jitter intro.

Forgiveable

>First date was whole focus but a bit slow 'til the battle.

Good, it was nice to see a change of pace story, with Tim being the focus, not Robin.

>Mellowing Batman?!

More like returning to historical form, thank God. Tim is his son now, that's a different, closer dynamic than just the "crimefighting partners" thing.

I liked the issue aswell.
I like these type of stories over the magic and supernatural story of the previous two issues. The best Beechen story i enjoyed was the kidnap story which was very realistic (and displayed Tim at his best; strategic and tactical detective).

At first i didn't really care for the Zoanne character, but this issue did change that in a way.

The Batman appearances were pretty cool too. The way Batman suddenly appeared before the window to signal Tim. That was pretty powerful (you could feel that it freaked out the other people).

And who else thinks that Batman led the supervillain to Tim on purpose (even though he said he didn't)? \:\)

The art was also much better than the previous two issues.

Yeah, Jitter could be an interesting villain...was this his first appearance?

Loved the Vibe reference.

E!

As far as I know, yes.

> Loved the Vibe reference.

Though it might have been highlighted by asking "Who?" (Vibe did die long before Tim ever showed up)

Has anyone noticed that since Chuck Dixon left (whose run on Robin i really enjoyed. It was my favorite title back then) none of the new Robin writer have used one of his villains. It's really a shame because Dixon had some great Robin villains like the General (that crazy but dangerous kid), the Cluemaster (Spoilers dad who also was Robins riddler and allowed Tim to show his detective skills. With the death of Steph this would be an interesting meeting), King Snake (one of Robins deadly arch-nemesis).

The old Tim Drake supportive cast is missed aswell. Who still remembers Ariana Dzerchenko and Ives?

Thats a good point, I would love to see some of the old villians and supporting cast, and I think a meeting between Robin and the Cluemaster would be really good now that spoiler died.
