In the episode, "Appointment in Crime Alley", Leslie Tompkins...how does she know Bruce? At first I just assumed she was a close friend but after watching it again it seems like she maybe related somehow. Any help?

Leslie Thompkins is Bruce Wayne's doctor. Leslie, was a friend of Bruce's father, Thomas Wayne. She, along with Alfred raised Bruce after his parents died. She is in many ways a surrogate mother to Bruce and still guides him from time to time.
