Is The Dark Knight gonna be able to get to a billion bucks worldwide?

I know there was mention of re-releasing the film at the beginning of the new year to either capture some Oscar buzz or to capture Oscar buzz if it gets a bunch of nominations.

I have to think Warner Bros. really wants to do all they can to try and get this movie over the billion dollar mark, since it is oh, so very close.
I mean only 3 movies have ever made over one billion dollars, so I expect we'll see a re-release sometime in the new year.
