Subj: Red Robin #18: Better than average...

This ish was a lot better compared to Batgirl's 'average' this month...

Both had decent drawn covers, RR's was more meaningful.

Both had villains not worth giving a flying fig for - but this MIKALEK definitely felt truly more threatworthy than the Scythe Reapers.

Both had superhero guest stars and learning whats up with Red Star was more engaging than the 'saem old' with Oracle. He looked very cool in action here. Neat character dynamics with Tim too. Is that ship of his similar to the one Xmen's Cable use to have?

Both heroes have cyber-sidekicks and ex-Anarky seems much less lame [pun realized] than ex-Twins rght now. BTW, what the heck is up with that? BG and RR got theirs, BoP have Babs, Powergirl just got her new guy, Superboy just got his new guy, Booster has the cyberest one; who else makes this new hero prerequisite list? Hey, is Red Star's ship sentient as in 'partner'-ship?

Both have friends helping out and Tam looks better and [prob more appropriate] than Det. Nick.

Both have new handbook characters introduced (AFAIK) and Promise easily beats out last page Blink(and you'll miss him) with her action oriented intro(and shower scene soapwielding). BTW, how the heck did he come up with her name?

Both titles had virtually NO followup with Bruce returning just last issue which was equally disappointing follow up on the return of the one true Batman.

Both titles continue to delgith with enjoyble narration to allow readers to vicariously share the adventure than many of the 'nuff said quite panels in other titles that artistically allow for reader interpretation a little too much.

Both have indirect connections to Calculator now... crossover anyone?

[Both Quinn and Otomo will hopefully compare their RRratings on this ish... \:\) ]
