Subj: Gough vs Caine: Favorite Alfred?

Gough for me. Understated, a little creepy, totally dignified, and utterly in character. I loved how he meticulously picked up after Master Wayne at the party and of course the stellar delivery of, "I have no wish to spend my few remaining years grieving for the loss of old friends. Or their sons."
Caine was enjoyable (as usual) and brought some humor and warmth to the otherwise sterile Nolan flicks, but. . .he's freakin' Michael Caine! To me, he was always Michael Caine playing Alfred. . .with a cockney accent. Plus, his Alfred was a little too "on the nose" for me, but then again the Nolan movies were big on explicitly spelling everything out via dialogue.
What say you?
