Originally posted on Wednesday, March 16 2005, this list can equally be applied to the most recent issue. Just substitute Captain America #25 or #26 for CA/F #13 or #14, and Ed Brubaker or Joe Quesada for Priest \:\-p

Okay, so, in Captain America/Falcon #13, we see Cap get shot and die. How is Priest going to pull this off and bring Cap back? Here are some possible solutions I’ve come up with. Warning: these get more and more ridiculous and over-the-top as the list goes on

1) Cap is in a deep death-like coma while his body heals. Hey, it worked for Count Nefaria and the Purple Man.
2) That was actually an LMD that was shot. Hey, it worked for Nick Fury… several times, in fact.
3) Other-dimensional duplicate.
4) Previously-unseen evil twin.
5) Another one of those pesky Space Phantoms.
6) Clone created by Norman Osborn and the Jackal who merely thought he was the real Steve Rogers.
7) At the moment of death, Cap’s consciousness was transferred to a cloned body created by Arnim Zola. Hey, it worked for the Hate-Monger and the Red Skull.
8) That was actually Xorn masquerading as Cap. Hey, it worked for Magneto.
9) It was all a dream, and CAF #14 will end with Sam Wilson waking up to find Steve Rogers in the shower. Hey, it worked for Dallas.
10) That was actually the goat from Quantum & Woody wearing a holographic suit. Good news for Cap, bad news for Valiant/Acclaim. Not that they’ve published anything in years, so no big deal.
11) CAF #14 will end with Cap still dead, and Marvel will just ignore this issue, not giving us any explanation for why he’s still alive. Hey, it worked for Cap vol 3 #50.
12) CAF #14 will end with Cap standing in a white void, directly addressing the readers to explain how this whole thing is a commentary on how Priest has managed to kill yet another series.

Anyone else have any bright ideas?
