Reply Subj: How I'd love to see Cap return...are you listening, Marvel?

I finally got my hands on #25 today and just gave it a read.
Folks.......if he's dead, I'll convert to cannibalism and eat myself.
Until I'm dead.
First off, the most significant thing: WE DON'T SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA DIE. He's dead on arrival when they get to the hospital, as we learn when his death is announced on TV. But we, the reader, do not see Steve Rogers die.
Superman got a flat-out death that we all saw. Granted he got a crazy comeback, but at least we got to see that American icon die when the time (apparently) came.
We see Steve get shot, numerous times, he lives on for a little while (mumbling stuff to Sharon)...........and then that's it?!? 60 years and he dies off-panel in an ambulance?! When Spidey gets offed, does he get a Poochie death too??
Also - look at the last page and the name of the story:
"Death of the Dream: PART ONE."
Cap gets killed in the first part of presumably a multi-issue arc in his own title? Yeah, sure.
And while I'm at it - Marvel killed Captain America a few years ago, and even went all-out with the huge 50th issue multi-story tribute issue. Yet by the end of the issue we knew he wasn't dead, because they had to set up his MK miniseries. This ain't groundbreaking stuff.
But it's damn good stuff. Because with all my b*tching, this was an excellent story and worth the hype. And I sure didn't see that twist at the end coming. Congrats to Bru and Steve Epting for yet another great issue.
...I just don't buy for a second that Steve Rogers: Captain America is staying dead, is all.
