> ...magic will be the excuse here. There is obviously something really fishy going on that somehow greatly diminish superman's power and effectiveness... Another vulnerability exploit FTW \:\-\( Dr Fate should give superman some sorcery 101 to better defend himself at times... the guy got too many of those achile heel.

...you can definitly tell the guys "know" what IS happening and what he feel SHOULD happen but isn't. And considering Atlas only demonstrated super-strenght and thoughness with none of the 2 power being superior, if we are to beleive what was said, you have something way too fishy going on for him to beat superman the way he is shown while remaining unscathed like he looks. At the very least it's suspicious.

> From the previous issue (see attached scan), we got part of the story of Atlas's history and found out that the source of his powers are from (surprise surprise) a "crystal" imbedded within him. \:\-D
>
> Anyway getting back to Supes, at first glance its easy to assume that he is being weakened in this fight. But are you so sure ? \:\-\)
> I could be wrong but I'm thinking that Supes (yet again) grossly underestimated his opponent believing that he could just slug it out with him and then realized too late that his blows are having no effect whatsoever on Atlas. Yes Supes keeps saying that something is wrong but notice he doesn't remark about how he "suddenly feels weak" or drops any of the typical hints that something (such as magic) is affecting his own ability to fight ?
> Rather we just see Atlas laughing off Superman's blows while (and this is key) the Kryptonian's knuckles are shown as bruised after hitting Atlas full in the chest. This certainly does strongly indicate Juggernaut type invulnerability on Atlas's part rather than weakness on Supes part. If I'm correct on the above (and once again, I could be wrong which means JF will have the last laugh \:\-P ) then it certainly doesn't present an "out" for Supes at all because after fisticuffs so evidently failed we should now presumably see all these extra powers of Supes (flight, superspeed, heat vision, ice breath, etc...) come into play. Powers that are "supposed" to make Supes nigh unbeatable against any Brick.

> Heh... whichever way it goes, I'm looking forward to this issue more than ever.

If you catch him by surprise while standing still you can do it.

The Hulk has knocked him down a couple of times. And the thing even tripped him.

It's stopping his forward motion that's near impossible. Redirecting it is.
