Since DC had it set up to have Big Blue save the day.... Could either cap/WW at their "classic" power levels engaged and stopped the DD that killed off Supes? IF BFR not an option, could either of them had killed off the beast as Supes was able to do?

Not at their classic levels. Today's beefed up versions could but it would still be a very tough fight. Back then, either would die in a one on one.

As you probably are aware, Superman went all out against Doomsday. He's only done that twice in his entire life, IIRC. So, I don't believe Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel could've done better.

In terms of power Cap could do it. The only problem would be for him to cut loose early enough to stop the creature. Wonder Woman's lasso might have contained Doomsday. In terms of strength alone, she proberbly couldn't have done it. But she destroyed a Doomsday simulation with the gauntlet of Atlas, which increased her strength by the factor 10. So with lasso and gauntlet, i come to the conclusion, that she actually would stand the best chances to stop Doomsday, without getting killed in the process.
