I was thinking about how when he was on Counter Earth he used to have a group of non powered friends (Dave, Jason, Eddie and Ellie) but ever since Starlin got a hold of him he became snotty and aloof and rarely takes part in a story unless the universe is at stake.

Can Adam ever go back to the small stakes like when he was on Counter Earth? He was more of a hero there than a messiah or svengali or whatever creep he turned into from Infinity Gauntlet going forward. Could we ever go back to hero Adam who more or less had some humanity and patience for people?

Im going to guess no. Because most of us were introduced to him in Infinity Gauntlet.

Having said that they did kind of fake an attempt a story like that in the earliy 2000's.

I'm more or less the same. I think my first exposure to the character is when Silver Surfer was exiled in the soul gem and met Adam just prior to Infinity Gauntlet.

But I've read some of the pre-Starlin stuff and liked some of it.




Yeah I didn't like that one from what I remember.

Adam Warlock is currently the new Living Tribunal so it would be impossible for him to go back to non cosmic storys.

Yeah but Logos already re-killed the Living Tribunal. So like a new iteration is inevitable.

The alternate reality Adam Warlock from the destroyed reality is the new Living Tribunal. Mainstream Warlock still exists as normal.

I don't even think that's true anymore. I don't think alternate Warlock as Living Tribunal was ever acknowledged in the main Marvel universe. And then Living Tribunal has died once (or was it twice) since then.

I would say even if alt Adam was LT he isn't anymore. Living Tribunal got wasted by Logos a while back and before that he died during the Incursions prior to Secret Wars. LT's been purged of Adam IMO. Which is how it should be

The Warlock Tribunal makes reference to his predecessor being killed by The Beyonders, so he apparently comes after that:

In one of the prologue Ultimates stories, reference is made to LT being reborn and it seems implied that the reference is to Starlin's story. Ewing seems to try to stay true to what is done by other writers, but it is no doubt that what Starlin does is widely ignored by other writers.
