What a waste of $4.99.

Honestly.

I was a huge DnA fan and was hoping for the best with perhaps a return of some Marvel greatness for their cosmic heroes, I had been especially emboldened with the return of Richard Rider but after reading this book I realized that it was not meant to be. The GofG characters have reached a point of beyond recognition and the portrayal of Richie is downright embarrassing. What happened to the war-hardened heroes from Annihilation? Marvel's Cosmic line continues to be, for me at least, a sad bad punch line to a stale weak excuse for a joke.

Bendis Bendised the f*** out of the GotG characters. They're no longer the fun characters they were in DnA's run.

And personally I always felt DnA stashed Rich in the cancerverse to keep him away from Bendis.

Personally I want a GotG comic without Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot or Drax. It was a great line up years ago...but I'm sick of it. I want them all to go do something else. They've sucked all the life out of that quintet.

So, I don't think that they're going anywhere in the comics. It would be cool to see the ORIGINAL Guardians, though. Have they been seen or heard from since Secret Wars?

Well until the movies are done I wouldn't expect the lineup to change in the books.

However I WOULD like to see Drax power up into his original incarnation when he was first introduced.

He was intelligent, had berzerk fury that was focused on Thanos' destruction and had enough raw cosmic power to match Thanos at the time.

I think they would almost need to reboot them to go back to their team at this point though. They wrote great stories throughout their run but if they are trying to keep with characterizations there is not much to do with it, pending editorial.

Bendis really ruined the Guardians. Used to be one of my favorite titles but now is a hot mess.

I need to read this book still, but just saying. They gave too many good stories to make me think that they are hacks or anything. Almost everything they did through Thanos Imperative was pretty good or great.
