Which is great news! Even better, it seems it only be "in name only" which is even better because that makes this no true Flashpoint at all (except in name).

It will have permanent consequences, however, since Tom Felton is a season 3 regular. Plus, there is also the possibility Supergirl's universe will merge with the larger CW Universe. Like several others, I hope not.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

From comments I have seen from the Producers I do not get a sense that the Supergirl universe will merge, and I feel that that is the correct decision as like Earth-2 and 3 it can exist and evolve on its own terms and still be available for semi-regular visits when it benefits the ratings.
This parallel universe/Multiverse concept is something that DC have made all their own as it was originally a means for reintroducing defunct but still semi-popular characters from a previous generation. The Justice Society's earth was therefore already an established thing when Julius Schwartz decided to have it exist as an equally valid place as the world of the Justice League, and so the strength of this begat Earth-3 and Earth-S and so forth... it is the cleverness of this simple but imaginitive idea that makes it emininetly desirable and possible to have these television shows able to co-exist and occasionally cross over to the other, thereby making the event something special and one to look forward to when it raises itself as a possibility on the horizon.
Of what value would there possibly be to having Supergirl and her cousin living mere miles from Oliver Queen and Barry Allen etc? Literally a quick call or skip away...?

I am thinking here though that they could be going for a mini COIE event, especially when all shows cross over, and the end result might be that Kara nd her scooby gang stay on Flash earth, while Superman must fix the breeches between worlds, and chooses to stay on his earth..

Still, he could be reached if needed by either Flash, or Magic user, or Hunter!
