Any fans of the Green Lantern\Green Arrow team-ups of the late 1960's? Most of their stories featured topical items of that time period. This issue's tale, "Death Be My Destiny!". concerns population explosion. I was a teen at the time that this story was printed and I remember how DC tried to gear this series to reflect the then present day concerns. Summarily , the plot line has Green Lantern,Green Arrow, and Black Canary on Oa to aid a Guardian friend judged guilty by the Tribune. His punishment is loss of his immortality and exile to live out the rest of his life on the planet Maltus. Being true friends of the exiled Guardian, our three heroes go with him into his exile and discover a overly populated planet, created so by Mother Juna (a villainess similar to those created by Jack Kirby at the time.). Can our heroes put a stop to the seeming madness of Juna's work? Script is by Denny O'Neill and art by Neal Adams - two Silver Age greats. Interesting, thought-provoking science fantasy.
