I see according to this that Hawkman isn't really a reincarnated Egyptian Prince any longer.

They're hinting he's not Carter Hall either but Katar Hol. It's looking like the golden age Carter Hall has been retconned off of New Earth.

Well, perhaps it's only claiming that we're back at the 90s status quo and "Carter Hall" is really Katar Hol again, with the real Carter dead since Zero Hour. (Won't interpret much until next month, sadly, since that's when my copy will be in.)

If this is the route they're taking, I figure he'll be in JLA by the end of this arc.

Well, that'd be pretty crappy as that would pretty much invalidate all of Geoff Johns' series and only AGAIN needlessly complicates the Hawkman history. You'd think they would have learned their lesson the first time around.

The thing is, there was really no reason to say that the Egyptian Price Carter thought he was never existed...unless, of course, they're saying that the Golden Age Hawkman was never really a part of New Earth.

There's mention of realities from various parallel earths being grafted onto Katar, again indicating that he's remembering events from things which didn't happen on New Earth.

Wait. What. Huh? But we saw Khufu..was that his name? And his princess in a time travel story. Can someone give me some detailed spoilers on this special. I'm on a strict budget and can't afford to buy it myself please.

See, this whole idea just annoys the hell out of me.
Johns seemed to do everything he could to tie everything up in that great JSA arc, and now slowly but surely it seems it's being picked apart again. I loved the Hawkman/Adam connection(it connected Adam outside of the Shazam Universe)and would hate to see that tossed.
I'm hoping this will be cleared up soon.

- and don't get me started on how they screwed up Dr Fate again!

Ah, Seems im late to the party. Who likes the Rock the party? I INFINITLY prefer John's Hawkman to the dross that cropped up in Holy War. I'm not enjoying Holy War at all, despite the fact it has no less than THREE of my favourite characters; Adam Strange, Hawkman and Animal man.

Is it really necessary for DC to do something like this? Unless it's a feignt by the big bad to try and confuse and remove Hawkman from the table a bit, its just crap. Is Stalin behind this move, or is from DC higher ups? because either way, it's a bad move. No doubt some good stories came from the Katar Hol Hawkman stuff, such as the Beast Avatars, which i rather enjoyed, but the fact of the matter is, IT JUST RUINED HIM! John's worked hard and wrote good storylines bringing the character back from the brink of naff, and no it looks like we're dropping down that chute again.

Shame really.

CRAP!!!

How many times are they gonna muck with Hawkman before he becomes "stinky" again.

They should have kept it the Golden Age Hawkman and left the alien molded inside the current one.

Now that they are saying the Golden Age Hawkman has been dead all this time and his memories are false.

CRAP!! That is all I got to say!
