X-FORCE #1: I bought this issue on a whim. I don't like Wolverine, and I don't think much of X-23 or Warpath. I do like Wolfsbane, so maybe that's the reason. In any case, I found myself enjoying the issue for the most part. I can't say I'm thrilled seeing Bastion again, but it's been a while since he was last seen, so I'm not against it. The artwork blew me away, and that may be another reason why I picked the book up. The ending was interesting, although I know Rahne will survive. So far, so good, so I will continue with this title, at least for a while.
NOVA ANNUAL #1: This series is another one of Marvel's well written books. I enjoyed the tweeking of Nova's origin, as well as the look-see into a possible future, where the world's heroes were infected by the Phalanx. Hey, I saw Jocasta in there, folks!!!! Jocasta!!! Man, I miss her and wish she would make a comeback! Nice ending to the issue as well, with Nova on the Phalanx homeworld, which looks appropriately dark and bleak. I look forward to reading #11!
