random thoughts:

The Initiative: a new class. Kind of surprised that this isn't an Invasion crossover. This makes me happy. I recognize Annex and Prodigy, not sure about the rest. Butterball seems like one of those characters that will polarize fans quickly.

Classic Avengers: no surprise it is getting canned. I'm sorry, but most of those early tales are far from "Classic". They should have done a few then jumped ahead to Thomas/Buscema.

Iron Fist: It seems like I was in the minority of fans who really liked the last stand-alone issue spotlighting an Iron Fist of the past. I'm looking forward to the next.

Giant-Size Hulk: I've dropped Hulk, but at last Roger Stern is writing for Marvel again. I will pick this up for his tale.

Avengers/Invaders: Yay!
X-Factor special spotlighting Quicksilver: double yay!

It doesn't surprise me that there are tie-in mini's to Invasion. I might pick up the FF-the team of Sacasa and Kitson sounds promising.

Me too. Have zero interest in Secret Invasion, so the fewer crossovers intruding into the Marvel titles I do get, the better. The only SI tie-in that won't make me skip an issue is the Hercules one w/ the newly assembled God Squad(I haven't seen Demogorge pop up since Atlantis Attacks!) going up against the Skrull gods. That's about the only SI tie-in that actually sounds interesting to me.

Will be good to see Prodigy again at the very least.

Yeah, I think they should have done something similar. Start the reprints just hitting on the important ones(#1, #4, like that) before cutting into the really good stuff. Kind of a shame they couldn't find a way to make this reprint book work. It was stuff like Marvel Tales featuring Spider-Man and Classic X-Men that helped turn me on to those characters in the first place. Then again, w/ Masterworks and Essentials out there, is there even a need for this type of monthly reprint book anyway?

I also enjoyed the look back at other Iron Fists, and am also looking forward to the next.

Might be worth it for that alone. I certainly have no interest in King-Size Hulk.

Wow, just looking at the cover one can see Quicksilver's had better days.

My own random thoughts:

Marcos Martin doing an ASM stint? Really liked his work on Batgirl: Year One and The Oath. That title has certainly gotten artists who do excellent renditions of Spidey.

Amazing Spider-Girl - That's a Brand New May indeed.

American Dream - gotta find room in the budget for this.

Ghost Rider - I wonder if that solicit is implying that the Dan Ketch GR is returning? Makes no real difference to me I guess. Liked Ketch, but still preferred the Blaze GR/Zarathos. Would like to check out GR again. The Way version didn't do anything for me, but a preview of Aaron's Blaze didn't arouse my interest either. And the whole angel business is still off-putting.

Guardians of the Galaxy - It has Cosmo in it? As if I could be even more sold! \:D

Nova - Nova Vs. Surfer and Galactus. 'nuff said.

The new Captain Britain title looks interesting, especially since it looks like Black Knight will be there!

Thor - I'm really curious where the title plans on going after the Asgardians are restored.

Butterball - it just sounds Slott - though this is scripted at least by Gage.

Gone? Interesting.

Roger Stern. Holy cow! That's great to see.

> Avengers/Invaders: Yay!

I'll be in for it!

..the Man-Beast is handled in the Wolverine title featuring the High Evolutionary. Actually, I would think Wolverine and the MB would make a solid set of antagonists---and the MB has such a long and interesting history.

I could swear this isn't a new character...

I agree... but it's a waste that we didn't even make it to #16.

> Iron Fist: It seems like I was in the minority of fans who really liked the last stand-alone issue spotlighting an Iron Fist of the past. I'm looking forward to the next.

As am I. I'm adding this book to my regular pull list with the start of the next arc, and buying the trade of the current one.

Yeah, I'll buy just about anything if Stern writes it. \:\)

Agreed.

Also agreed.

True. I'm particularly thrilled, by the way, that the original War Machine arcs are being collected in trade in May. Yay!
