Maybe it should turn out that some of Scourge's victims were actually Skrulls, who ended up getting killed off because they didn't take into account someone would be offing super-villains. The Vamp, the Melter, Basilisk and several others could have been Skrulls. Of course, we would need a writer to use the surviving villains in interesting ways so people would like them again. I always thought, and still think, that Brubaker could do wonders with the Vamp, making her a big espionage-style character working for guys like Hydra, AIM, and whatnot.

... we could have those villains brought to the same Kree project that revived Midnight Sun to act as agents AGAINST this Skrull Invasion. Basilisk, in particular, would be a good call for this sort of revival.

That is not a bad idea, although it goes against my desire to keep dead characters dead.

They COULD be brought back, but as they have been dead for 22 years now and no one has felt the urge to bring them back, there might be a reason for that for the most part.

I've been kicking around some Super-Villan Team Up ideas just to amuse myself, and one of those involved a lesser-used mystic villain (someone like the Left Hand or Tai from New Warriors) rescuing some villains from various hells. These villains discover their abilities have been altered somewhat (and increased in all cases) by their time in hell. Characters like Melter find that their power has been made a part of them.

However, what they discover through trial and error, is that every time they use their hell-born power, it's like a beacon announcing their whereabouts to the hell-lord whose domain they escaped from.

I had thought about using Melter and Catseye, but hadn't gone much further than that.

Sorry. As soon as I hit send, I realized I hadn't finished my thought.

Anyway, the ressurected villains end up having to stay together until they can figure out how to get by with decomposing bodies and powers they can't use. Maybe eventually they'd replace their old tech, take over new bodies, etc...but they'd have to rely on each other, and become a team.

It'd be a recurring thread throughout an ongoing Super-Villain Team Up book.

'Some of' is okay, but I wouldn't want that ALL the villains Scourge killed were Skrulls and not the Real McCoys. Personally,I think the Bruno Horgan Melter should stay dead. He can easily be replaced, perhaps
by someone with a grudge against Iron Man/Tony Stark/Stark Industries,or
a long-lost relative (like Matt Fraction is doing with Obadiah Stane's son). Besides,I'm still pissed off at Marvel for resurrecting Harry Osborn. I wonder when we will finally get to see the father-son reunion of the century between Norman and Harry, and its aftermath!

I don't think all of the villains killed by Scourge should be brought back either, but I wouldn't mind it if a few of them were Skrulls. It's funny if you think about it....some Skrulls pose as some villains so they could infiltrate the underworld and end up being unexpectedly killed off by Scourge. Whoops.
