Here's a thread about it on the FF board: http://www.comicboards.com/app/show.php?msg=fantasticfour-2008053112434200 I'm no fan of Millar's FF so far but this issue had a lot of charm. I'm curious to see how it ties into his other works. Edwards' art is really nice in most spots.

I liked it a lot too. It's a miracle I bought it, having just decided I'd had enough of his and Hitch's F4. I'm hoping the ties to his otehr work are o nlique rather than integral since I'd rather have nothing to do with his Wolverine arc either.

I liked it, as far as first issues go. I pretty much bought it on a lark, looking for something different. I'm glad that I did. It's very original, and intriguing. I'm looking forward to the next ish to see where it's going. My LCS seemed to have several copies available today (may have been a new variant cover). But if yours sold out, maybe that's a good sign that the series has gotten attention and people are liking it.

I didn't pick it up right away because of some early reviews that were less than favorable. However, I liked it very much. I knew going in that I was in for a real world story and not so much of a slm bang fight-fest. I was very much a Marvel kid in the 1980's and reading this book felt like I was revisiting my childhood a bit, right down to the comic book ship visit scene! For right now, I'm in and I'm looking forward to the next issue.

If I weren't so tightly budgeted these days I might have doen a first and bought both halves of that awesome Cheung picture.

This is one of those series that I feel is best read as a HC/TPB. I'm going to wait until then. The same thing for the Old Man Logan arc in Wolverine.

Issue 1 was suprisingly good, but after looking at the preview of #2 it seems like a bit of a let down with the Hulk character. But the intrigue factor is still there trying to tie-in with Millar's FF and Wolverine runs.
