Subj: Reviews: Captain Britain and MI:13 #2, Hulk: Raging Thunder #1 and New Exiles #7!

CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI:13 #2: So far, this series has been very excellent! Paul Cornell is doing a great job introducing this new series, I think. This time out, the Skrulls invaded Otherworld and kicked major butt all over the place. The Excalibur sword was found, but no one could remove it from the stone. Spitfire didn't even try, and I think it's likely because of her new vampire status, which will be touched upon next issue. Captain Britain appears to be dead, which didn't have that much of an impact on me in this day and age of heroes dying and resurrecting all the time, but rumor says Pete Wisdom will become the new Cap, which could be possible since someone is telepathically speaking to Pete in his head. The new character Faiza is interesting, as is her weird powers, and I love seeing the Black Knight back in action, too, ala Harras/Epting. Overall, I highly recommend this new series, which takes the place of THE ORDER now for me.

HULK: RAGING THUNDER #1: I enjoyed this one-shot issue. It was a Thundra tale for sure, although it was narrated by hers and the Hulk's daughter (not sure I like this new character yet or not). I'm glad Thundra was finally brought back, although I'm not sure when the story takes place. Arkon is nowhere to be found, and who knows about when the story takes place for the Hulk. Still, I enjoyed this issue, and I also enjoyed the reprint of FF #133, which I never read until now.

NEW EXILES #7: So far, this is the best issue yet of this new series. I liked this world where the French and British Empires are at war with one another, with super-humans on both sides. Something strange is happening with Psylocke, who seems to have been overtaken by this world's Lady Mandarin persona. Slaymaster is back, gunning for Betsy, while Sage's newfound teleepathic abilities are explored some more. All this, plus the seeming destruction of the omniverse is forthcoming! Nice stuff!

And that's all she wrote for today! Thanks for reading and have a nice day! : )
