I usually get my comics every other week now, and when I do get them, I get a lot of them and split them into two weeks to cover the week I don't get them. For example, this week, I got the following:

SUCCUBUS #1 (Moonstone title)
MAGDALENA*DAREDEVIL #1 (Image title)
BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS #8 (DC title)
NEW AVENGERS #42
MIGHTY AVENGERS #15
AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #14 (wha?????)
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #663 (I think that's the number; it's the Enforcers issue)
MS. MARVEL #28
NEW WARRIORS #13
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #2

That's ten comics, five for each week. So this weekend, I've decided to read:

SUCCUBUS #1 (Moonstone title)
BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS #8 (DC title)
MIGHTY AVENGERS #15
AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #14 (wha?????)
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #663 (I think that's the number; it's the Enforcers issue)

And that leaves the following for next weekend:

MAGDALENA*DAREDEVIL #1 (Image title)
NEW AVENGERS #42
MS. MARVEL #28
NEW WARRIORS #13
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #2

In case anyone was wondering, that's why my reviews of comics are late certain weeks. I have to walk to my store (I can't ride the bus due to my social anxiety disorder) and it takes 40 minutes, so that's quite a walk every week! So I go every other week to make things easier.

I go to the shop weekly, although I have been toying with the idea of going bi-weekly as the number of comics I collect continues to drop. The shops I go to aren't very big however and don't get a lot of copies so I continue to go weekly and not miss out on any new arrivals. To drive out to a bigger shop is a 90 minute to 2 hour adventure that I prefer not to endure unless there's a big sale.

Since my place of employment is only about 5 minutes away from one shop I will pick one weekly "lunchtime read". This week was the latest issue of 1985. For various personal reasons it was a tight financial week for me and I only picked up 3 titles: 1985, X-Men Legacy and Project Superpowers. The titles I missed, like Hulk, Thor, Avengers: Initiative(no "whaaa" here) and Iron Fist will wait until next week or...whenever. I have a strict "comic budget" I allocate myself and almost never go over it.

Unless I have other plans on a Wednesday night all my comics will be read by Thursday morning, Friday at the latest. I honestly don't know how you can wait until Sundays to read your comics, the little kid in me still screams "Now!". Any weekend reading for me is back issues, trades or Essentials.

I visit my LCS at least once a week. My LCS is within walking distance from my house, so I usually stop by on my way home from work. I get my books once a week, but sometimes I just stop by the shop to shoot the breeze with the guy who runs the place. He's always either watching a DVD or playing his guitar (he's in a local indie band).

I don't tend to get a lot of books. I only spend about $20 each week, all of which I read at the neighbourhood coffee shop the day I get them.

40 minutes is a respectable walk. Reminds me of my youth when i'd walk my meager allowance to the very same LCS I go to now (same owner too). It was about a mile and a half then, and I live closer now, but I drive there. Usually after work. My books get less and less it seems as time has gone by the last couple years. For every book I add to my reading list, it seems another drops off. I'm usually in the 25 dollar range once a week.
Like Doc Shallot said, I dont normally wait until later to read my books. I'm usually a "now" guy. My ritual consists of getting home and reading the issues I dont want spoiled immediately, while flipping through all the rest of the books (except the last page, though spoilers are usually discovered anyway) Dont know why I flip through some of my books before I read them. Just a lifelong habit. Those books I flip through I usually read later. I also reread my favorites before storing them away.

Scheduling and activity in my life has actually altered my ritual lately. I currently have a stack i'm chipping away at whenever I can find free time. But if I had my choice, they'd all have been read by now.

Reveals His OCD

I vary between weekly and biweekly but the routine is always the same: I order however I bought from the one I am least anticipating on top to the one I am most looking forward to on bottom. I can read the bottom one first (bottom two if it's a heavy week) but then it's least to most. The when I'm done I re-order the books so t hat the one I liked least is on top and the one I liked best is the bottom. Very rarely have the orders been the same.

I do something similar, but I put the books I'm least anticipating in the middle. I like to start and finish with a story I'm very interested in, with some fluff in-between.

Come to think of it, I'm kind of the same when eating.

It goes back to when comics used to come out on Fridays. I just kept doing it for so long I got used to it. Plus, I like the anticipation. It helps when I work on profiles of characters appearing in the various issues (like I just recently finished a profile on "Skrulla", the unnamed female Skrull from MS. MARVEL #25-27 and I still have #28 to read, hehe).
