which heroes (or villains) would you like to see retire and have happy endings?

for me, i would have prefered to see steve rogers retire happily after all of his service rather than be murdered.

i would have liked to see spider-man retire with his wife (and child). a new spiderman like ben riely could have taken over. i really think all story possibilities for spiderman have been exhausted and theres nothing new to do (see his current series)

nick fury- it just feels like hes been around too long, especially with the WWII connection.

My picks:

Wolverine...he's old, he smells, he has an opinion on everything, doesn't shave his back hair...he needs to just be put in the super hero old folks home and be done with it.

Iron Man...he's become such a horrible person in the past few years.

Professor X...whiny know it all who holds his students back.

Hulk...I don't see how they can do anything new with the character.

Hulk is a good call. They have gone through just about every single option for an alternate identity and "Hulk Smash!" has been done to death off and on for fifty plus years.

Wolverine is just way too over-exposed, but I agree that Xavier should be retired. He walks, it wheelchair bound, he walks again. He has his powers, he's lost his powers, he's got 'em back again. I think they have done just about everything with him, too.

But as for Tony, I think there is still plenty there for them to use, personality wise. I don't think Marvel has exausted Stark yet.

I am definately down with Wolverine retiring. He could be very interesting if used in a mentor/teacher role. This has never been seriously explored to my own personal knowledge.Either that he dies in a battle, "live by the sword die by the sword and all that".

I still think the Hulk is a very compelling character and all the psychological drama is good to me. I would like to see Banner rejoin the Avengers get the Hulk persona until control (for a time) Maybe even lead the team. Could be interesting as he was the leader of the Pantheon from way back when.

I agree what has been done with Iron Man (Stark) had made him a very terrible person and definately its a bad time to be an Iron man comics fan. I am hoping he will be revealed as a skrull but that unto itself would be pretty lame. *unfortunately* Perhaps someone else will inherit the armor after Stark is done being a villian. Thats my 2 cents. Good reading to you all as usual.

everytime they have tried replacing a hero...except for possibly Brubaker on Cap it has completly bombed on them.

Hulk and especially Iron Man would be VERY poor choices especially after having movies just made after them...it would be incredably stupid especially considering how well the Iron Man movie has done.
