Subj: Reviews: Mighty Avengers #15, Avengers: The Initiative #14 and Amazing Spider-Man #563!

MIGHTY AVENGERS #15: This issue mostly showed how Hank Pym was captured and replaced. Not much of a big deal, really. Still, I did like the story well enough to have it in my SI collection. The girl looked like Gwen Stacy, heh. And Bendis wrote the Wasp like a slutty harpy, I think. Ick. Looking forward to the Elektra issue next month!

AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE #14: Believe it or not, I read this entire issue and enjoyed it, not really finding anything wrong with it. So, wither Christos Gage wrote the entire issue or he's a good influence on Slott. The only mistake I caught was that the Hank Pym Skrull was male here, while he was female in MIGHTY #15. Otherwise, I liked seeing the Devil-Slayer again after all this time! Great usage, too. I like Triathlon as the new 3-D Man so far, too, and I actually liked the new character Star Sign very much! Glad she wasn't killed. I can't say I like Crusader or care about his problems, though, but the ending was a nice little cliffhanger. And I also like that those first recruits -- that lizard chick, Hardball, MVP and the lot are gone, too. Those were lame characters to the max. More like Star Sign, please. I don't plan on getting this title once SECRET INVASION is over, but I will pick up the remaining crossover issues if they all work out like this one did.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #563: This was a good Spidey versus the Enforcers issue, but otherwise I could have skipped it and not missed anything. I bought the issue for the "Bar with no Name" villains, but there was only four pages of them and the fight was the usual nothingness done in two pages mess. Not my cup of tea.

And that's all she wrote this week. Next week will be MS. MARVEL #28, NEW AVENGERS #42, MAGDALENA/DAREDEVIL, GUARDIANS #2 and NEW WARRIORS #13!
