Hey everybody, I tend to lurk on the site more than actually post, but from time to time I do make the occasional post and now I'm wondering if you folks can give me a hand.

I've already posted a similar post of this on the X-MB and the AMB so I apoligize to anyone who lurks or posts on all three boards, I just wanted to make sure I could get every and any one's help on this.

I'm looking to get a half sleeve tattoo of iconic Marvel images- not characters, not heroes, but rather possessions like Cap's shield, Thor's hammer, the X icon, Wolverine's claws etc.

I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions of what could be used as an iconic image for this little project of mine. Any contributions, be they full image attachments or just basic ideas is greatly appreicated!

Tatoos of iconic stuff, hunh?

How about the following:
Silver Surfer's board
Black Bolt's tuning fork
Dr. Doom's Mask (that would be cool--Doom's mask in the middle, with all of the other items around, kinda like Doom was collecting it)
Hulk's purple pants (just kidding)
Spidey's web-shooters, Cyclops' glasses
Moon Knight's Crescent throwing stars
Blade's sword or stakes
Namor's winged feet
Dr. Strange's Eye of Agamotto
Luke Cage's Tiara
Iron Fist's Dragon Symbol
Mandarin's Rings
Hobgoblin/Green Goblin's Pumpkin Bombs
Doc Ock's Tentacles

That's about all I have...and do us all a favor: post your decisions and maybe a picture of the tat (if appropriate) so we can all ooo-and-aaa and wish we could do something like that (my wife won't let me).

The only collective image that comes to mind is the Maestro's (Future Hulk) trophy room in Future Imperfect. But it not something that would translate to a sleeve. (http://www.marvelcomics.pl/stuff/summaries/incredible_hulk_future_imperfect/incredible_hulk_future_imperfect_1@3.jpg).

I think it really depends on what you want, and advice would be hard to give. We don't know what you like, and I assume you want your favorite items to be more prominent. So for any specific advice, we have to know more about you.

My advice would be to commission an artist to draw something up for you first. Lots of artists will gladly help you with this idea, and give you a better view of what the sleeve would look like.

One idea you could look at is the fact that most Marvel symbols are a circular shape. The X-Logo, Spidey's mask, the FF logo, Cap's Shield, the Avengers logo, etc are all circles. You also might want to consider the character's logos on their costumes. Cap's star, Wolverine's stripes, Spidey's Spider logo, etc.

Dude that was awesome, and exactly what I was looking for! Some of your ideas had crossed my mind, and others I hadn't even thought of like Iron Fist and Moon Knight.
