Not sure where I heard this, but I thought that, at one point, Michael Jackson wanted to buy Marvel comics.

Anyone hear this rumor too?

I don't think Michael have wanted to buy Marvel Comics, he was just a comics fans who wanted to met his idol Stan Lee.

RIP Michael Jackson and Farah Fawcett, two great icons.

There are also the fact in the early 80's, that Michael Jackson was a direct inspiration for the curly black hair Beyonder (in the comics himself it was clearly said) except (without bad word game) that the Beyonder was white, it was during the Thriller Mania/Victory Tour/we are the world time, Jackson was everywhere during this time (it was really crazy), I think that it was logic that the most powerful character in comics during this time take inspiration from him.

For Farah Fawcett (sadly the other star who have died), I think that she was a strong inspiration for the character of Ms Marvel because of her famous hairstyle, the Ms Marvel of the 70's has excatly the same hair (except shorter), I think Charlie Angel was very important to make a more important place for action Women in the Media.

Seems so. (http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/06/25/rip-michael-jackson-comic-book-fan-collector-and-almost-the-owner-of-marvel-comics/)

So it appears that MJ did give the thought some consideration. He would still have likely been a part owner, since the cost of Marvel would still be in the couple of million of dollars. And this was in the late 90s, when the company had considerable financial negatives.

And it's not like he would have been running the company, but it would have been a business opportunity for him.
