ATLAS #1 http://www.bscreview.com/2010/05/atlas-1-preview-marvel-comics/ ![]() ![]() ![]() What did work... -one of the 3 covers -the power showings of the glasses -story pacing -intro of that radio host -death of a major D-list superhero (or ½ of one anyways) -the idea with the backup story with interpretation of Delroy's dream for the readers in the same issue -(little) Agents of Axis action (finally) shown in their premiere issue with (modicum) characterization in another (retconned) Plan/Lao 1958 adventure where the villain, (oddly) called by his realname, is revealed as the Yellow Claw! Unfortunately, NOT sure about... -just ATLAS, sans Agents, as a title -the (repeated) stagnant appearance of the team still basically the same since the 50s -an extremely spacewasting/indulgent PrevPage -the first issue NOT starring the Agents but instead Delroy (not being a Triathlon/3D Man fan to start with didn't help) -the dullish coloring themes used for most of the locations/scenes -no dash of humor, especially from Gorilla Man ![]() -many post-SI plotlines, with Skrull danglers needlessly ignored (particulary Kill Krew concerns) -why sexmate Sheri was not introduced properly with a last name -Chandler casually sharing on the radio show that D and 3-D are one in the same (DR is over, secret identities are back in ![]() -how he seemingly used his strength power without uniform&glasses in the bar -who he was narrating to at the hospital with Peggy when he talked to the readers but in 2 boxes addressed "YOU HAD BEEN ATTACKED" and "YOU WERE THERE" -why quotations marks were not used to indicate presumed sarcasm when he said "AWESOME" to being getting publicitiy as a suspected killer -how to enjoy any part of the one panel battle crop with a (generic) giant robot in Waikiki we will probably never see again -how the heck he (far?) fell down the well(?) in that poorly choreographed scene upon entering(?) that unsecured(?) HQ front -the aesthetics of title pages at the end of the story I miss my brother. | |||
