The Union 002 (of 5)
Total opposite of premiere. That had grabber cover and unremarkable insides. Where this ish has a totally inconsistent/misleading poser cover *BAH* and the inner contents were way better. This had some interesting/entertaining potential.
Even dead (but probably not for long) Britannia was (still) a good part of the story. A developing (albeit plain) origin for team member
Darwin and Selwyn might have felt interchangable but it's better to have a supporting cast than none and likely their distinct priorities should be sorted out better by the end of the mini. The King In Black crossover element was better too. A clearer presentation of Knull targeting strategy of superhumans in some ways. Also the incentive to look up IRL location of Methyr Tydfil (but NOT how to pronounce it) is a credit to the issue for keeping me curious. (Blimey, even looked up: Why Are There No "Snakes" in Ireland?)
Okay, the successful possession of Ruth after her sonic whamee was debatable. And: were all the costumes insulated so the heroes weren't electroshocked by UJ? Plus, do the (low tier) heroes have a better idea how to deal with the blacked out sky threat or is it shameful indifference with their logic to break up the team? Britannia was probably inspiring them not blackmailing them, right? It's actually a cool concept that this team is representative of ALL FOUR NATIONS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM. ("KINDOM" is a typo, right?). It seems better -creatively- to manage a team with equal numbers of represented members from each land with a universally accepted symbol superhuman as the leader. The other welcome 'change' is presumably calling the S.H.E. by a better less generic acronym of S.H.E.D. It makes sense Great Britain would break from Europe in this way since they did it with Brexit.
Does your answer to my previous review question: "In for a penny, in for a pound?" change after this one?
